Bolelli has lost the opening set too Gonzalez. Chilean leads 7-6[4]. Upset seems unlikely now.

Looking at Gonzalez's ranking he could drop way outside the top twenty after next week because he has 350 points to defend in Rome and a very tricky draw this year...
1R - Tipsarevic
2R - Soderling or Qualifier
3R - Nalbandian[7] or Almagro or Cipolla[WC]

A very tight match in the end between Gonzalez and Bolelli. Gonzalez wins though, 7-6[4] 6-7[4] 6-3. I thought Bolelli might have lost it after the first-set tie-break but he pushed Gonzalez to the end.

In Barcelona, Nadal[1] leads Ferrer[2] 6-1 4-6 3-0. At least its a closer match than in Monte-Carlo last week.

Nadal wins 61 46 61
well this week Ferrer could take a set from Nadal, last week he choked.

Nice that the B-Brothers won the final. At least this, I hope they will do well in Roland Garros.

I think the other players are closer to Nadal than they used to be last summer... saw the highlights of the final and Ferrer played well... Federer was VERY close in Montecarlo, and don't forget the all-round skills of Djokovic and (...again...) don't underestimate Davydenko.

I think the possible 3R match-up between Andy Murray and Rafael Nadal in Rome this week could be interesting. Murray has the skills to push Nadal and give him a tough match. Last year in AO Murray took Nadal to five sets, although with this week's tournament being on clay it won't be easy.

I don't think Murray will have a chance.

The Gonzales vs. Tipsarevic Match was a thriller 3/6 7/6(0) 7/6(6). Federer won against Canas. Andy won against Mardy. Ancic shows again, that he is in great shape. Kiefer lost against Ferrero in 3.

I think he was being sarcastic. It was his brother Jamie that was defending Britney Spears. Andy was slating her :D

shitty day in Rome :(
Nalbandian out against Almagro. Ferrer out against Stepanek. Blake is struggling against Seppi (ok nothing new, that Blake is struggling on Clay :P )

Joke advanced in two. Davydenko is crushing Ancic and Gonzalez is cruising in two as well.

Well I think he might have had a chance because Nadal has just gone out to Ferrero! 7-5 6-1 in 1hr 54mins!
Murray has to come through against Wawrinka though. He is a set down at the moment, but a break up in the second.

wow  he must have been very tired.

I can't believe it.

better now, than against Federer in Roland Garros :P
I think he should withdraw from Hamburg as well. Save the energy for RG.

edit:
Nadal had blisters under his right foot!

Nadal was obviously below his best, he made a lot of UEs and looked really jaded and he was hampered by his fitness, but a lot of credit has to go to Ferrero who played very well and stood up to Nadal well in the first set which was critical in the match.
You do wonder about the wisdom of playing doubles in Monte Carlo.

I actually think Nadal did a Nalbandian and tanked the match so he could go and watch the Real Madrid - Barcelona game, Nalbandian lost a match at Wimbledon so he could go and watch the World Cup.
I'm doing Rafa watch at the Bernabeu right now. He's got more chance of being there than Eto'o or Deco. Nadal's uncle played for Barcelona but Rafa's a Real Madrid fan, go figure.

1-0 Real Madrid, Raul 12 mins. No Rafa.
2-0 Real Madrid, Robben 21 mins. Still no Rafa.
Halftime. No more goals, no more Rafa.
55 mins: Lots of crowd shots, still no Rafa. Maybe he's off having a prawn sandwich.
3-0 Real Madrid, Higuain 61 mins. Where's Rafa?
Rijkaard looks dumbfounded. Don't know how Rafa looks because I've not seen him.
4-0 Real Madrid, Van Nistelroy (pen) 75 mins. I'm starting to think Rafa's not there.
4-1 Barcelona, Henry 85mins. No Rafa, he's probably watching on tv.
Full time: Real Madrid 4-1 Barcelona. Frank Rijkaard's had a worse day than Rafa. This will probably have cheered Rafa up. Unlike Nalbandian, his team won.
