We'll just see how Daniela does here. She got to the third round last year so she has a lot of points to defend and her form coming in isn't too good but she's been in Paris preparing and with a bit of rest and some proper time to work with Nicolas, she can produce some good tennis. Hopefully she can get a decent draw but she has to respect any opponent. All I know is that Daniela will give the very best she can.

Daniela gets Bencic again...tough but winnable. I fancy Daniela's chances against Bencic on clay more than hard.

The draw could have been better but it could have been worse. Bencic beat Daniela in Miami but her form since hasn't been great as she's lost her last four matches and her clays wins were over Dellacqua in Charleston and Goerges in Stuttgart. Bench lost to Suarez Navarro in Stuttgart, Gavrilova beat her in Rome and she had a great run there like Kovinic did in Charleston but she also lost to Tomljanovic in Madrid and Konjuh in Prague.

If Daniela gets past Bencic then she's play either Keys or Lepchenko and third round opponents would be Bacsinszky, Arruabarrena, Smitkova or Townsend with Kvitova the most likely 4th round opponent.

Daniela has to focus all her effort on Bencic and that will be a challenge but it's one that Daniela can rise to.

Daniela's section of the draw:

I was having a nightmare about Daniela coming to Paris having had some exceptional practices, being raring to go, and playing brilliantly in the first round, only to have the opponent be Serena and the whole thing going up in smoke. So Bencic isn't so bad. For once I'd like to see the player in bad form STAY THAT WAY against Dani and that she can take advantage.

Sunday's schedule shows that Daniela doesn't play until Monday.

Let's Go, Daniela!

Not on Monday's schedule, either. I'm sure Daniela has long since figured out what to do in Paris when she is not playing!

Daniela & Sam Stosur play Tsvetana Pironkova & Oksana Kalashnikova in doubles. Klashnikova's a 24 year old Georgian ranked 80 in doubles. The winner plays either third seeds Babos & Mladenovic or Erakovic & Watson.

Doubles draw, Daniela's section:

Is it just me or is the Roland Garros website absolutely terrible this year?

You guys must have noticed that the winners of yesterday's WTA tourneys were Knapp and Stosur. Odd coincidence. My mother always told me that everything happens in threes. Hmmmm.

Let's Go, Daniela!

Daniela's the fourth match on Court 7 after two men's singles and a men's doubles, play starts at 11 am.

Looks like Daniela's going to have a long wait for her match tomorrow.

Yes I agree with you Chungwit, I don't know why they have changed, this new site is awful.

Will they not move it to another court if one becomes free earlier ?
