This seems like something that could help ease some of Daniela's pain and extend her career. But I want some thoughts…do you guys see it that way or is this cause for gloom, alarm and panic?

Daniela's had foot problems on and off for about 6 years, she first hurt her foot at the 2007 Luxembourg final and it's periodically flared up ever since most notably in 2008 & 2012 when she had to miss Roland Garros. Hopefully, Daniela's able to get some good treatment and rest and she isn't hindered by it in 2014 although it seems that it's something that has to be managed rather than completely cured. Daniela's played a lot of tennis over the years and nagging injuries add up and are harder to get rid of. She can recuperate and rest in the off season and do herself justice next season.

The Necker exhibition is basically a knockabout on a luxury island in the Caribbean and the Bratislava exhibition is a supertiebreak against Hingis and a mixed doubles match. Neither should be too taxing and there's less travelling than the exhibitions Daniela did last year. Hingis is involved in both so we'll see whether she plays next year because there's a good chance she'd play doubles with Daniela if she was to play. Personally I think there are better partners out there and Daniela did well with Lisa Raymond. Hlavackova & Hradecka split up and I'd be more than happy for Daniela to play with either of them, especially Hlavackova, although I think she's going to play with Safarova and Hradecka's going to play with Michaela Kraijicek.
