well expecting an easier match in SF .. hope Hsieh will be an easeir opponet...
Vera is not playing well these past few weeks.. and Sorana is getting good results... beating Stosur in AO R1..
I prefer her than Kirilenko..

That was another tough battling win by Daniela against King. She had a slow start but fought back and she came through a long tiebreak. King always gives Daniela a tough match but Daniela always wins in the end.
A wee bit of a worry is Daniela's serve stats as King was able to break her a few times and Daniela only converted a third of her BPs. Still she won the match and she's through to the semi.

Again, much obliged to Patti and Eddy for keeping me up to date here in NY. The post that referred to Daniela smiling and enjoying herself against Aga's sister was heartwarming as well. Vania must want Dani drawn and quartered! :o Nice to be on the right side of She-Can't-Beat-Her-No-Matter-What things. Judging from what I see here and on FB, us Daniela Maniacs are out in full force this week! Our appetites are very much whetted for the seemingly glittering chance Daniela has to successfully defend. But the road is still filled with bumps. Hsieh is on a roll, has nothing at all to lose, and speaks of enjoying the heat and humidity while Dani speaks of struggling with it. She could hit the wall, or the shoulder/foot might act up, while Hsieh plays out of her mind. That's glass half empty thinking. Hopefully, this ends up the way a match between a defending champ #20 ranked player and qualifier #159 ranked player should: a devestating rout! Let's Go, Daniela!!

Kirilenko beat Cirstea in 3 tight sets, so if Daniela makes it to the final, Kirilenko might be a bit tired.
