Daniela beat Dulko easily enough and got her first win in Toronto since 2003.

Martinez Sanchez beat Daniela in Sydney this year although Daniela was injured. It's difficult to really say exactly how well Martinez Sanchez is playing as although she won Bad Gastein and beat Jankovic at Wimbledon and Pavlyuchenkova here, neither of them have been in particularly great form recently and the highest ranked player she beat in Bad Gastein was Kateryna Bondarenko at 88. Martinez Sanchez also beat Peer at Roland Garros and Eastbourne and she hasn't lost to that many bad players but generally the good players have beaten her. At the same time, she has been winning recently so she'll have some confidence, plus plus she's a lefty and serves and volleys a lot. It'll help Daniela that she's played Martinez Sanchez before. It could be tricky but as long as Daniela maintains her recent form she should win this.

I'm a wee bit disappointed that Daniela's on court 4 as it's a really small court that's not much more than a practice court. Mind you, Kvitova's on court 2 and she's Wimbledon champion. It's the court Daniela's on and if she wins this she'll be on a better court.

Daniela Hantuchova is right about everything.
