On my webpage, I would like to add the following information, but I don't know the answer. Does anybody here have the answer? I wish the WTA would add the same ranking information to the official website as the ATP has.

Number of weeks in top10:
Number of weeks in top5:

Also, does anybody have some strange facts? E.g.
At the 2008 Australian Open, Daniela (24) was the oldest player to reach the SF.

Good idea Christina. The only one i can think of is Daniela having the longest legs in the WTA. Hence the reason for her tennis nickname 'Legs'.

I have a new quest now. I want a list of matches of comebacks. Prefably with Danka come-backs but also the other way around. I got the idea when watching the 2007 Aus Open R32 vs Harkleroad yesterday.

This is the list of matches so far.
GOOD MATCHES:
2007 Aus Open R32 vs Harkleroad, Danka was down 67 04 and later 67 25 and then 67 75 13 but still won 63 in the 3rd.
2002 Zurich R16 vs Dementieva, Danka survived 4 mps in the 2nd set in Dementieva's serve. Danka won the match 36 76 76
2008 Aus Open R16 vs Kirilenko, Danka was down 16 and down a break in the 2nd set as well, but won 16 64 64
2007 Doha QF vs Hingis, Danka was down 16 14 (I think) but won 16 64 64

BAD MATCHES:
2006 Doha R16 vs Li, Danka was up 64 51 serving and leading 40-15, later 64 53 serving with two match balls. Lost 64 67 16
2008 Indian Wells QF vs Sharapova, Danka was up 5-2 in the 1st set, but lost 67 16
2008 Aus Open SF vs Ivanovic, Danka was up 60 20 but lost 60 36 46
2006 Bali R16 vs Czink, Danka was up 5-2, lost 57 26
2006 US Open R64 vs S. Williams, Danka was up 52, but lost 57 36

that's what I can remember. Does anybody else have some matches to add? Preferably to the first list

2007 Doha QF vs Hingis, Danka was down 16 14 (I think) but won 16 64 64
that's right, she was down 1-4.

One of her good matches was against Vaidisova in Linz 2007 (I guess we all remember): 2-6 6-2 7-6(3).
It wasn't as bad as in the Hingis-match in the second set, but we could add it to the list. I'm not sure if Daniela was also down in the third set (against Vaidisova)...

A weird match (neither good nor bad, but lucky) was against Schnyder in Luxembourg last year, when she needed hundreds of match points to finish it 6-3 5-7 7-5

Happy new year to everyone on the forum!

An excellent topic Christina, and one I felt like replying to in some depth

GOOD COMEBACK MATCHES

2002 Indian Wells SF Dani def Gagliardi 4-6 6-0 6-4-An impressive display in her first major semifinal, overcoming the first set hiccup.

2002 Eastbourne R16 Dani def Navratilova 2-6 6-2 6-2-A wonderful display of all-court tennis and the match that made me a devoted Daniela fan.

2002 US Open R16 Dani def Henin 6-1 3-6 7-6(4)-Overcame injuries to both thumb and ankle to defeat a future great.

2003 Antwerp R16 Dani def Callens 5-7 6-4 6-3-Dealt with both Callens ferocious serve and a partisan crowd to notch the victory.

2003 Berlin R32 Dani def Schett 6-3 4-6 6-3-Overcame a nasty blow to the knee

2003 San Diego R32 Dani def Srebotnik 3-6 7-5 7-6(6)-Saved a MP in the final set and ended a terrible run of nailbiting losses.

2004 Tokyo R32 Dani def Molik 6-1 6-7 7-5-Molik had proved to be something of a nemesis in previous encounters so this was an important win for Danka.

2004 Eastbourne SF Dani def Mauresmo 4-6 6-4 6-4-Out of the wilderness at last with a superb win over a fine grasscourt player.

2004 US Open R128 Dani def Pin 1-6 7-6 7-6-A match that proved the necessity of Valium for the ever-suffering Daniela fan.

2005 Doha R32 Dani def Maleeva 4-6 6-4 6-3-Danka was 3-0 down in the final set before turning on the style.

2005 New Haven R16 Dani def Schnyder 5-7 6-2 6-4-The tide finally turns in the Hantuchova-Schnyder wars.

2005 Linz R32 Dani def Koukalova 6-4 6-7 7-6-Good to see that Daniela isn't the only headcase out there.

2006 Auckland QF Dani def Obziler 7-5 3-6 7-5-Nigel Sears stormed out of this match, presumably in search of some heart medication.

2006 Tokyo R32 Dani def Jankovic 2-6 6-4 6-4-Looks good in retrospect,doesn't it?

2006 French Open R32 Dani def Dechy 6-3 3-6 10-8-Danka banished the memory of Ashley Harkleroad with this great win;Dechy served for the match at 8-7.

2006 Wimbledon R64 Dani def Jackson 6-3 4-6 7-5-I had to put up with Barry Davies and his morose Dani-baiting commentary in order to watch this match;thankfully Daniela was able to pull out the win.

2007 Indian Wells QF Dani def Peer 6-2 5-7 7-6(5)-There was some epic headcasery from Daniela in this match as she blew a 5-3 lead in the final set. Her serving, however, was excellent in the crucial moments.

2007 Wimbledon R32 Dani def Srebotnik 2-6 6-3 6-4-I watched the final set of this one. Daniela won a crucial point by having the bottle to S+V on a second serve late in the contest.
I was very proud of her!

2007 Luxembourg QF Dani def Schnyder 6-3 5-7 7-5-This match had the lot.Winners and UE in copious and equal amounts, sublime netplay from both ladies, dodgy umpiring and both players spitting the dummy in hilarious fashion. Quite possibly my favourite WTA match ever(Daniela deserved to win this BTW.She kept her cool when it mattered, unlike Patty. And her husband!)

2007 Linz SF Dani def Vaidisova 2-6 6-2 7-6(3)-I wish Daniela was always this mentally composed. Saved a MP with an excellent first serve, and Vaidisova crumbled under the pressure of Daniela's consistent groundstrokes, especially the CC forehand.

That's about all I can think of for the moment. I'll try to chronicle the bad matches at a later date if I can stomach it;it's bound to dredge up some painful memories!

wow, thanks for a great post. I'll definitely look into getting some of these matches or re-watching. I love seeing lists from other fans to see which matches they find good for one reason or another.

just watched the 2007 Luxembourg QF. Daniela played unbelievable well to get ahead 5-0. I think her winners - UEs ration was 9-3. Her serve was good, her groundstrokes penetrating, her dropshots worked, and she moved well (for her, not compared to the actual good movers on the tour). And damn she was frustrated after the 2nd set when talking to Angel - but who can blame her. He did a good job of calming her down. I am going to miss him as her coach, that's for sure.
And we rarely see her this mad during matches. After losing a mp, she took a ball and fired it at the wall, and she hit her racket down in the floor. It was so obvious she wanted to get it over and win. Great match, I agree.

Daniela's huge hissy fit was one of the reasons I really enjoyed this match-just admired the intensity and passion to win(Patty was coming up with some amazing clutch tennis as well).

What impressed me in the end, though, was her composure after being broken back in the 3rd set. You could have forgiven her for crumbling after wasting so many chances but she kept her cool, maintained her high standard of play and ended up serving out the match to love. And then Rainier kicked some bottles!

I'd recommend watching the SF from that tournament as well. It's not a dramatic comeback victory(Daniela beats Bartoli in emphatic fashion),but as high-class Daniela performances go,it takes some beating.
