I dont expect them to win, but they can give WS some tough time :D

And like I said, it will be very good practice for Daniela to her next matches, especially the one tomorrow! Or the day after tomorrow? When is she playing Jankovic(maybe)?

She could get some rest, too.

It can't be tomorrow, she needs to rest :? (I have no idea of the scheduling)

Well, she proved me wrong, and I'm glad she did. I really didn't think she could make it past the 3rd round this year. She played the big points so well today, especially in that 7th game of the second set. If Wickmayer had broken back, the match would have turned around.
Jankovic is going to be much better prepared this time around, after having lost her last two matches against Daniela. I don't really care if she loses to the nr.4 in the world, R.Garrros is allready a great succes no matter what.

Guys, I see everyone complimenting Daniela's BH DTL. And I know it was her money shot back in the days...

But she didn't hit many winners with it today, mainly just UE. And I think that is the case most of the times nowadays. Don't you think it has become a very unreliable shot for her? Unless she is very well positioned, or it is on (Charleston against JJ).

Her FH deserves most of the credit these days, I believe.

Absolutely fantastic win by Daniela to play so well and win by a convincing margin against a tough opponent. This is wonderful.

This run fits Daniela's Roland Garros pattern. 4th round in 2002, 4th round in 2006 and at least the 4th round in 2010.

Daniela Hantuchova is right about everything.

Since I guess daniela is waiting for doubles, here's Yanina on Daniela:

Q. Good morning. So I guess you can analyze your match and see what went well and what went wrong today.
YANINA WICKMAYER: Well, she didn't make many mistakes. She played very well. I haven't had enough matches on clay, and I think she played a great match today.

Q. You served to win the first set, if I'm not mistaken. What happened?
YANINA WICKMAYER: Well, I played fairly well up until 5 4, but she played a great match. I mean, she really served well. She played many winning points, and I was not there on the important points. But she played a beautiful match. I only had two matches before. Yesterday it was tough. My arm was pretty tired today. I must say she did play really well. She was very aggressive.
I didn't give her any points; she played better.

Q. Is it in your timing there was some kind of difference because your elbow was a bit stiff?
YANINA WICKMAYER: Well, when your arm is not as strong as usual, it's not good. You can't be as good as you usually are.
But after the match I had yesterday, it's quite okay. I was a bit tired. I could not accelerate. My forehand was not at its best today. But did I what I could. I fought on each point. I tried to do everything I had to do.
But I do think that well, you know, her game, the way she played today, I had to be at the top of my shape today to beat her. I was not at 100%.

Q. What's the most difficult for you in her game? Is it her very deep and flat shots?
YANINA WICKMAYER: Well, I was not very aggressive, but she didn't give my many opportunities to be aggressive. Just after her serve, she was right in the ball. She made a few mistakes on a backhand, but very few. She was very good on her backhand also. She really played a great match.
As for me, on those points where I should have been aggressive I was not aggressive enough. I didn't take my opportunities and she did.

Q. She probably surprised you with her dropshots?
YANINA WICKMAYER: No, I don't think I lost that many points on dropshots. I mean, it's true that she played dropshots exactly when she needed to.
But that's the way she plays. We've seen that in the last matches. This is something that she used as well and something she does great on clay.
But this is not what made the difference.

Q. What do you learn from this Roland Garros given the conditions in which you arrived here?
YANINA WICKMAYER: Well, I'm very happy I can play. I'm very happy my arm is still strong. I don't think many people thought I would be here this year, so playing the third round is good.
It's an additional experience, and today I played against a girl who really played great tennis. So it's not that I lost, it's because she played a beautiful match. I have no regrets. It was a beautiful tournament.
Thanks to my coach, I made lots of progress over the last couple of weeks.

She was very graceful in defeat. Nice words :)
