i only saw a few points so far, but I can already say Daniela is playing very good tennis! :)

Tanasugarn is playing quite bad and Hantuchova had a couple of very ugly errors but her service is rocking today, and making some good choices :D
but in the break to 2-0 Daniela had to run a lot for some points and also won a point she should have lost.

and i like the aces here and there.

For a 1st round, in clay she's playing quite a good job. and her amorties are being quite effective
yeah, she hit 7 aces so far :D

GAME, SET, MATCH DANIELA 6-1 6-1

Stats:
57% of 1st serves
88% points won on 1st serve
8 Aces
1 DF
26 winners (without aces)
11 UE

Tanasugarn:
51% of 1st serves
50% points won on 1st serve
0 aces
3 DF
7 winners
12 UE

1:02h

Daniela played a pretty solid match. Tanasugarn did not play well at all but Daniela was consistent, serving really good and playing some quality clay tennis with amorities and changes of pace. I was quite impressed, hope she mantains the level in her next round :D

From RG website:

"DaniHani! First winner of the day! Hantuchova double baguettes (6-1, 6-1) She will play the winner of Olga Govortsova and Carla Suarez Navarro in the second round. CSN went deep here two years ago (like Katy Srebotnik) but apparently barely able to hobble around court at the moment due to injury so I can’t see her making progress here."

eddy, she served an ace at 190 kmh against Petrova in Beijing last year. She was understandably very pleased with herself!

Solid match. She manage to push Tammy and won many points doing that. Cool dropshots. Govortsova & CSN is 5-5 now. I don;t think they can put Daniela on trouble. Carla was serving for the set but broken by Olga.
It's a pitty that she will play doubles with Woz on a non tv court...

Govortsova rallied from 6-1 down in the tiebreak to take the first set.

Govortsova upsets Suarez Navarro in straight sets so it will be Daniela versus Olga in round 2. Daniela will be clear favourite for this one. Nice to hear the commentators earlier discussing Daniela and commenting on her recent good form (well, before her couple of losses at Rome and Madrid). She's got a good chance of going deep here in my opinion. I'm hoping Jankovic slips up - there's definately chance of it - she has qualifier Kanepi in round 2 (not easy), and then if she gets through Alona Bondarenko or Rybarikova in the R32 (again tough encounters for Jankovic if she's not on top of her game).
Hopefully Daniela can get another win later today in the doubles. And it would be nice to see her and Caroline go up against the Williams sisters. Regarding Caroline, I can't believe she's playing doubles here as well as singles considering the state of her ankle. She's played far too many tournaments since Charleston when she injured herself and isn't taking out enough recovery time - could be troublesome for the rest of the season.

Thanks to Tanasugarn, we have such a great score. Daniela played well enough, did what she needed to have this win. I am happy that she can save some energy for her next match.
