This forum's been really quiet since her loss in madrid.
Daniela will be seeded 23 unless other players above her withdraw. Unfortunately it means that she could face a number of dangerous players should she reach the 3rd round(which would be a good result in itself)
Safina, pennetta, azarenka, sharapova all could potentially meet daniela in 3rd round.

I guess the forum's quiet because there isn't all that much to say anymore, or at least nothing taht hasn't been said a millions times already, without anything really changing.

This is probably the most unpredictable Roland Garros for a while as there have been a lot of surprises and upsets in the clay season. I don't think that anyone though that Martinez Sanchez and Rezai would win Rome and Madrid. Right now, pretty much any of the seeds can beat anyone else on any given day, but can be upset on any given day as well. Someone could just happen to get hot and produce their top form. It's an open tournament with no one in outstanding form going in, although a lot of players are in good form, while some players are injured or hurt and that's affecting their results while others just aren't playing well.

It's important that Daniela puts in a good run here as this'll be her last chance to gain points for a while and there's a bit of a points gap between her position in the rankings and the top 20. If Daniela feels good then she can do well here as she was playing so well in Miami, Charleston and the Fed Cup. I wonder how much her back injury affected her in Rome and Madrid. If Daniela's healthy then she can do well, but if she's hurt then obviously it'll be harder. I'm sure Daniela will prepare well and go in as fit as she can with good practice behind her.
Hopefully, she can get a decent draw and build some confidence and momentum and who knows what can happen.

Daniela didn't use her back as an excuse for her defeats. Neither should we.

Right. I feel she will have a nice draw. Maybe some other upsets will help to reach QF. It's possible... Top players don;t play that well these days.

Hi everybody. I'm preparing in Monte Carlo for the upcoming French Open, which I'm very excited about, as the Grand Slams are always the highlights of the year for me.

On Sunday we took a little break between practices so we went to see Formula One racing. Thanks to our friend Alex, we had amazing seats that were almost right on the track. We were at the beautiful hotel "The Paris" and it was a great experience to experience the live atmosphere. It was not only great to attend such a glamorous event but also to be able to see how fast those guys really drive through the city - normally we drive 50kph there, and they're going 280kph :-)

I will write to you soon from Paris...

Until then, with love, Dani :-)

P.S. In the picture below there's my mother (top right) and my brother's girlfriend Lucia (bottom right). You can go to my new photo gallery, Dani's Off-Court Gallery, to see big versions of all of those photos - click here!

So hope Daniela is well prepared and got rest for the RG :)

Daniela doesn't make excuses, it's not her style, but that doesn't mean her fitness wasn't a factor in recent tournaments. The healthier she is the better she'll play.

Hopefully Daniela can pick up some sorely needed points here. She's been moving up and down to the same position in the rankings for a season and a half now. She's not going to get anywhere if she doesn't notch up some decent wins. If she returns to her Miami / Charleston / Fed Cup form anything is possible, but her results in Rome and Madrid aren't encouraging. RG might be the last the chance for Daniela to give her season a shot in the arm. Here's to hoping... :S

Safina can be a very nice R3 opponent and Kuznetsova for R4. Pretty good.
