Daniela's chances have certainly improved with the cancellation of the other semi-final, but I just hope she doesn't underestimate her opponant because of this. Someone like Pavlyuchenkova is very capable of playing two good quality matches in one day - she's not exactly struggling for fitness. As for Sevastova, we saw how Dulgheru faired in Warsaw and Sevastova definately has a shot at doing the same and going all the way to the title. That being said, I would think Daniela's professionalism will get her through to the title today, which would be a big confidence boost going into Indian Wells, where she always has a shot ;)

"I didn't have a good start. It was difficult to find a way to win but I'm happy I was able to," Hantuchova said. "In the first set I didn't take my opportunities, so from the second set I decided I had to be aggressive. I was hoping it wouldn't rain."

"I haven't been in a final since three years ago, so I'm excited. I don't have anything to lose, so I'll just give all of myself," Hantuchova added. "I came to Monterrey early to prepare myself and I think it shows. I also feel like I'm playing at home here, the fans are so supportive."

"This was not my day," Cibulkova said. "In the first set I was aggressive and focused well, but I changed how I was playing in the second set and she got ahead several games, and by the beginning of the third set I was mad because nothing was working for me. I need to think about my mistakes - I know playing against Daniela I can't play like I did. I'll just have to learn from this one."

"I wasn't planning on coming to Monterrey, but I'm happy I did because I won some good matches," Cibulkova added. "I was so happy how the crowd was supporting me, I actually feel sorry I didn't win today."

Hantuchova, after the triumph over Cibulkova shone with satisfaction. "The procedure in singles finals I'm excited. I'm happy that I did not have to wait for him five years, but I am now in a half years after the break. Match against countrywoman is never easy, has a specific charge . In the first game I played too cautiously, as dominica use. dejstva From the beginning of the second but I started playing more aggressive and more relaxed and have a match until the end of the run in my production. Well, I moved to the villages and I was more active exchanges in various toy . It was a duel as the other two matches against Dominica in 2007, since we both did good work and she is greatly improved. The finale is very much look forward and I will try to enjoy it. In Pavľučenkovou I lost two weeks ago in Dubai, so would be a good revenge against Sevastovovej I have not played, but it's awkward player." @

Daniela Hantuchova is right about everything.

Wow. I'm pretty gutted that i haven't been able to watch any of Daniela's matches this week but i'm just so happy that she's into her first final in so long! She's a massive chance of taking it out too. *fingers and toes crossed* you can do it Daniela!

Pavlyuchenkova won in three sets and in one hour, 43 minutes. She's a tough opponent, but Daniela has a big advantage in conditioning at this point.

On the other side, Pavlyuchenkova really has rythm now. Danka had a slow start yesterday and it might be hard today as well. If Daniela takes the opening set, it would help a lot. She has also the advantage if the match goes long, because of the longer break. Additionally, she's the 3-sets-queen.
