I always felt that there was a possibility that Daniela would play here after she trained in Mexico in the offseason. The desert climate in Monterey will be like Indian Wells so it gives her match practice prior to Indian Wells in similar conditions, plus she's got the chance to get a few wins if not better. It's not a particularly strong field and Daniela should be able to beat most of the players easily enough although a few of the players here have beaten Daniela or given her a difficult match in the past.

Hantuchova in Monterey as Preparation

The Slovakian player Daniela Hantuchova will be in the Monterey Open 2010 to prepare for the events in Indian Wells & Miami.
SAN PEDRO DE GARCIA, Neuvo Leon (25 February) The Slovakian tennis player Daniela Hantuchova said she's in Monterey to for preparation for the big tournaments in Indian Wells and Miami, for will take the same with a calm particiaption in the Monterey Open 2010.

Hantuchova was presented to the media yesterday as a prelude to the beautiful woman appearing on the courts of the Sierra Madre Tennis Club with the participation of the players in the tournament. "I'll take one game at a time, I'll see how I'm making progress, that's what I do," expressed the player.

Hnatuchova won Indian Wells in 2002 & 2007. She's the second player to win the Grand Slam in mixed doubles and her highest ranking was 5 in 2003, she's now 27 in the rankings (24 actually).

The Slovak was at the club to speak to the media and to look at and train a little on the courts.

That said will be quiet during the tournament, mainly because it serves as preparation for the events in Indian Wells and Miami, which give prizes of $4.5 million and represent the first strong tournaments on hardcourts.

The tournament starts this weekend with the qualifiers which gives four entries into the main draw which starts on Monday.

Slovak tennis player is eager to play in Monterrey

If the presence of Russian Maria Kirilenko captured last year's Regal
get ready to enjoy Daniela Hantuchova.
The Slovak tennis player to reach the city this week to start
preparation in the Monterrey Open Tennis 2010
which will start next Monday in the court of the Sierra Madre
Tennis Club. Hantuchova, who is ranked in the place
24 of the WTA, is considered one of the most beautiful tennis players
circuit, has class and wastes delivered to your games.
And before arriving in the city, the Slovak
was last year part of the beauties of Sports Illustrated,
already made a request. "I look forward to go to Monterrey and to be

"Yes, definitely, Monterrey is a great place to
prepare for my favorite tournament in Indian Wells, but at the same

Hantuchova won the Masters at Indian Wells in 2002 beating Martina Hingis.
The Slovakian has has spent part of their preparation in Mexico and
feel excited about playing for the first time in Monterrey.
"I definitely consider myself a tennis player, other than
is said comes from off the court, but tennis is my life
during the past 20 years, so it's something I always wanted
do and hope people remember me for that and not by how many
photos I have taken," she added.
