Daniela fans are the last people who should be sniggering over a loss to Date. Anyway last year Chakvetadze was playing horrible tennis, and still managed to chop Daniela in Miami, and Daniela herself was reluctant to admit she could beat Cornet in Melbourne last year, purely because Alize was ranked above her.

6-3 6-0 is an impressive scoreline no matter what. Doesn't mean Dementieva isn't going to squash her,but it should mean she goes into the match with confidence. The temperature in Sydney is going to be oppressive(40 Centigrade) and Daniela produced some of her best tennis in the furnace of Cincinnati last year.

BTW do you think she's too thin again? :|

Like everybody in here I'm quite suprised to see the scoreline of the game which is great because as we know Daniela's serve is not her stronger point and to win the match without losing any game is quite good.
I'm not expecting a win over Dementieva but I think that she'll not be an easy opponent .. This is her 10th year as a Pro player and I do believe that she'll be now more consistent and just enjoy playing without pressure.
Anyway, GL Dani on your next round :)

What an amazing scoreline against Razzano although Razz is not in a solid form this year. But I still consider this win as one of positive signs of her form. I think she played good, at least she showed some confidence by getting this scoreline. However it is quite hard to say anything more ab this match since we didn't see the match.

About next match against Elena, I really think this is a real test for Daniela as Elena is quite a consistent player. This match result can show where Daniela's form is now. I really want to watch this match live, this will be (hopefully) a competitive match.

This is her 10th year as a Pro player and I do believe that she'll be now more consistent and just enjoy playing without pressure.

well, Dementieva lost at the Hopman Cup against Lisicki in straight sets, so she's not unbeatable at all. And I never had the impression that Dementieva enjoyed a match without feeling any pressure  (at least i matches against established players).
Sure, I know that Lisicki and Daniela are two completely different types of players, but I believe everything's possible.

Eurosport are starting their Sydney coverage today and Channel 7's showing the tournament between noon and 5pm so a lot of us should be able to see it on tv and there should be a stream of Daniela's match.

Daniela Hantuchova is right about everything.

I don't know why but I think that the call that was in by 0.01% is going to make Daniela sink in this match :/
She was playing so good during this beginning of the 2nd set :/
Poor Daniela, she must be sooo F*ucked right now :(
