Another great win. First really good tournament for hantuyama since AO if I remember correctly.

I think they have a good chance to take the title now. In final against Hsieh/Peng they are the favourites IMO.

Would be the second title for Hantuyama after 2006 in Rome.

Too bad they lost... I read they didnt play very good. But at least they had great wins and got to a final, 1st since the AO. Hope they can keep it this way :)

Damn, what a shame to get all the way to the final and lose but its nice to see Hantuyama stringing a few wins together and hopefully Daniela can take some confidence from there into Madrid next week

Daniela after the match:
"It was a tight match, both teams played quite well. Because of the no-ad system luck is often decisive and today we were a bit more unlucky than our opponents. According to stats we won two points more and it still wasn't enough. But we are very happy with our performance in Rome, especially with the QF against Black/Huber."
"Don't tell me my Madrid draw, please. I don't want to know it yet." (smile)
As for Daniela's singles matches: "I was a bit unlucky drawing Safina resp. Kuznetsova in 2nd round. Both players then played in finals. Against Kuznetsova I felt competitive, but when she broke my serve it was very tough to stop her given her current confidence."

it's a short version for respectively.
That refers to Stuttgart and Rome, where Daniela played against Safina and Kuznetsova

Thanks - learn something new every day! Yeah she was unlucky and looking at Madrid's draw her luck with draws seems to have ran out...

Daniela and Ai had a great run in doubles but unfortunately couldn't repeat their 2006 win in Rome but it's still a nice run after recent disappointments. The no-ad rule is really getting on my tits.

Daniela had a good win against Dushevina but she was beaten by one of the top clay courters, so she did as well as could be reasonably expected given the draw.

Daniela Hantuchova is right about everything.
