Daniela only gets around 40 percent of her first serves in. Not good enough. Luckily in this set she is winning more points on the 2nd serve, but I would love to see more easy points from the serve. Like aces.

Weird stats so far for this match, 0 aces and 1 double fault for each player and it's pretty deep into the match (119 total points). Her ace count has been all over the place this year, with a couple of matches with nine aces and others with very few. Some of that may be the quality of her opponents and the difference between playing with confidence when you are up a set and a break against a player like Makarova. Still, it would be nice to see if her serve were more of a consistent weapon.
On another note, Daniela hasn't won a match after losing the first set since topping Govortsova in New Haven in August.

I remember in 2005 or 2006, she used to recover from a set down to win the match.

well in 2007 she did was good in 3-setters. In the first 3 months she only lost to Mauresmo in 3-sets. I don't have time right now to check more into this, but I will later

yes, but in 2007, I think she won the first set, then lost the second but took the last set. That was not like before that, when she lost one first and took the other two.

Oh well, not that low since she is in Top 50.
But seeing Daniela far away from Top 20 is weird and make me envy of other player. Funny hows karma works.
