Another good week for one of the younger players on the tour. Quite a big event in Troy, Alabama, USA and a nice run all the way to the final for Stoop. She has certainly improved up the rankings and hopefully soon she can join the other british players inside the top 200 in the world

Well, GB has just four players inside the top 200 now because Naomi Cavaday's ranking has slipped considerably (currently 247). Georgie Stoop (currently ranked 209 thanks to her efforts last week) is now the British number 5, and will surely have a better chance of being picked for the Fed Cup team next year, although Keothavong, South, Baltacha and O'Brien will remain as the 'top four' first picks.

Laura Robson has been handed a wildcard into the Fortis Championships in Luxembourg, playing alongside the likes of Elena Dementieva, Lindsay Davenport and Daniela Hantuchova herself!

She will also obtain a senior world ranking this coming Monday (around the 560 mark), having played her third senior tournament of the year this week.
