A good thing is next season she will not have too too many points to defend other then at the AO. while players like safina will have plenty.

Well it is right that she won't have many points to defend, but the draws will be likley to be very tough when you are outside of the top 30 or even 50.

Yeh I mentioned that, particularly grand slam draws. If she is unseeded then in theory she could meet someone like Serena Williams or Maria Sharapova in round 1.

As some of you have said, one thing we mustn't forget, when the ranking is going down, it means you will get tough draw more often. So it is never easy to go back when you are unseeded or low-seeded, you have to face top players all the time. Now Daniela is still around top15, she still has chance to get points, which unfortunately she is not able to due to her bad form. The next couple weeks when she looses all the points she got from last year, there are maybe some tournaments she is even unseeded and with her bad luck with the draw, she might end up facing a top player at round one. That makes the situation even worse.

To be honest, Daniela needs too much time to get back in form, when we compare the time with Vera. I know everyone is different but though I still think that is too long for a top player. When I saw her played in Beijing, I thought she was on the right way to get back but then Bali, that was really unexpected bad performance. I really wish she could do well next week to get some points, otherwise she will be in big trouble.

A few years ago Dani was No 52 ( if i remember well ) and she managed to reach No 8.
She did it once, she can do it again. Talking about the new season, i think its a kind of challenge. I mean, i am very curious to see how she will react playing top 10 players at early rounds.

I guess she has to work harder during off-season and be
prepared for AO 2009.
Besides, there are a few tournaments left until the end of the
season, she has to earn something out of them...
