Well i think Schiavone isn't the worst match up for Danka. As for Wozniacki, it sucks that she always gets cakewalk draws. i hope Danka or the Qualifier will make the QF.

Not the best of draws for Daniela but when you look at the points available just a second round finish would gain her 60 points and help her in maintaining her ranking during the indoor season.

Off topic, is it me or does poor Kuznetsova always draw Li Na in the early rounds of tournaments. Probably one of the worst floaters out there at the moment.

Truthfully, there are about six to eight players as or more dangerous than Schiavone, so it could have been worse. But it's hard to see how Daniela wins more than one match at this tournament.

Schiavone's a decent enough draw for the first round. Her recent form is fairly modest with a lot of early exits. While many of the players that beat Schiavone went on the have good runs at the tournament, the only top player she's beaten since March is Radwanska at the Olympics. I really think that Daniela's level will determine the outcome: if she plays well, she should win; but if not then it'll be a tough match.

Daniela Hantuchova is right about everything.

A tough doubles draw for Hantuchova and Szavay playing the home favourites in the opening round and then potentially the former world number 1 team of Raymond and Stosur in round 2.
But importantly this will provide Daniela with more match practice and a chance to play some very competitive doubles matches.

I still think if this is a good decision to play here instead of smaller tournament like Vera does. Daniela need match practice and with such a strong field like this, I doubt she could have more than 2 match practice (or even 1). Is it worth traveling all the way there only to play one (or two) match? With her form right now, I don't think she is ready to compete with top players soon. (I would be very pleased if she proves me wrong)

I agree to some extent but Daniela belongs at the big tournaments and there is always such a good atmosphere at the bigger events. I think when she looks back on her career she will like the fact that she always played the big Tier I events rather than Tier III's and IV's which were in the same week. Plus, if Daniela wins a round here she gets 60 points. To get 60 points in Guangzhou she would need to reach the semi-final stage (65 points), which would mean winning three matches against players such as Kudryavtseva, Wickmayer and Govortsova (not easy opponants). Playing the Tier I's also gives Daniela the opportunity to play doubles with the top players too.

From these pictures I can see why Daniela likes the big events

Daniela will head on to court in about an hours time to face Schiavone in her first round match.

usually I cheer for Sugiyama/Srebotnik in doubles. However, since they just lost the 1st set, I am hoping Petrova/King will win in 2. I just want to get Danka on court.

she was close to 3-0 down , but she breaks back to 2-1*
hold your serve now

and she lost her serve again ... 1-3*
Schiavone holds her serve 4-1*
Daniela always manager to get a deuce game , but she can't finish them :(

1-5* down , 3 serve games , 3 times broken
what's up with her serve, this is going on for months

And she lost the first set with 6-1 ...
