Daniela's not in the main draw for anything on the main tour and I didn't see her down for any ITFs. She'd need a wildcard to get into pretty much anything on the main tour, even to get into qualifying, and she'd need a wildcard to even get into qualifying for the Australian Open.

The only thing that Daniela's scheduled for is the exhibition in the Cayman Islands in February.

Daniela is next player in to the Australian Open qualifying...

I wonder if she'll take it if one more person withdraws...

The Daniela we know would jump at the chance. And her last like 15 FB posts sure make it look like she is playing this year. I sure hope so. I miss her.

If Daniela does get in, one thing that's helped her will be because some of the players above her are playing ITFs during the Australian Open as well as all the withdrawals. I wonder how ready she'll be as I don't think she anticipated getting in and also she had to withdraw from Taiwan and Hawaii, so hopefully Daniela will be fit. It would be fantastic if she does get in.

It looks like Daniela is just going to get into the Australian Open. Fett, who was in Autralian Open qualifying, won in Hobart so she can't make qualifying so that helps Daniela get in. Plus, Daniela's latest social media post show her on a plane, presumably going to Melbourne. I don't thinks she's been officially confirmed yet. The draw is tomorrow at 5pm in Melbourne with play starting Thursday.

Evert to replace injured Seles in Legends
By Staff -January 15, 2017

Monica Seles, who was slated to appear in this year’s Legends tennis event in Grand Cayman, has pulled out due to injury and is being replaced by 21-time Grand Slam winner Chris Evert, organizers announced Friday.

Evert first achieved world number one ranking in 1975 and has the highest winning percentage in pro tennis history. She has won 18 Grand Slam singles titles – seven French Open, six U.S. Open, three Wimbledon and two Australian Open, as well as three Grand Slam doubles titles.

This will be Evert’s first time attending Legends, where she will partner with Jim Courier for a doubles match against John McEnroe and Daniela Hantuchova, organizers said.

Legends 2017 will also feature a men’s singles match between Courier and McEnroe.

The event takes place on Friday, Feb. 17, at Festival Green in Camana Bay.

Tickets are still available, organizers said. They can be purchased at the Visitor Centre in Camana Bay.

These ITF entries prove conclusively that when Daniela says she's still playing because she loves to, she means it. I mean, these are not the garden spots of America, folks. I have lived in the USA for all my 60 years and have an affinity for geography, and I have never heard of Winter Chapel, Florida or Midland, Michigan. More power to you, Dani.

Went to Google. Winter Chapel is on Florida's west coast and is a slight bit of a tourist attraction. Midland, Michigan, on the other hand, is smack in the middle of the state, nowhere near a big city, nowhere near a body of water or a beach. Long range forecasts leave the tempuatures in the 30's F, around 0 C, with some rain or even snow (it has to be an indoor event). Even in the last year or so, Daniela has played in some of her long time favorite tourneys and/or locations that allow her to play golf, to shop and model, to wear a bikini, and to attend glamorous pre-tourney parties and hold autograph sessions. Dani in Midland, Michigan is very hard to get a grasp on. Perhaps she can model at Kohl's and hold an autograph session at the Midland Mall. Daniela, you truly do still love the sport.

Let's Go, Daniela!

Fed Cup vs Italy, 11-12 February.

To Forli and Hantuchova

Tenistiek Slovak Quartet, Jana Cepelova, Rebecca Šrámková, Daniela Hantuchova, Anna Carolina Schmiedlová figures in the squad for the first meeting of the group round of the first World Cup on the soil of Italy Federation (11 to 12 February on clay in Forli). New captain Tathiana Garbin of Italy comes up without a team Leaders of Roberta Vinci, but will be available Sara Errani and former French Open winner Francesca Schiavone. Foursome complement debutantes Jasmine Paoliniová and Martina Trevisaanová. Slovaks enroll without current global majors Dominika Cibulkova, who decided to skip Fed Cup all year and focus on the individual tournament program.

It will be the second mutual match of the two countries in the history of the prestigious team competition. In 2002, the Slovak team, won the semi final of the tournament in the Spanish Maspalomase 3: 1 and graceful ride finally ended gain valuable trophies. Two points then fought Janette Husarova - The current Fed Cup trainer.
n addition Cibulková not have Slovak captain Matej Liptak available or Kristína Kucova, who has knee problems. "I have been in contact with Kika. She promised me that he would try to put health in order, to be able to play. On Tuesday, however, I spoke to Dr. Roman Fanomo that I convey that it is not good. The knee is in such condition that Kika is considering surgery. Originally, I had the dilemma of who will be the fourth player. I decided to Kaju, but for now the situation has evolved so that it is in the team and Daniel. I have references that neither Janka Čepelová not a hundred percent fit. If you could not go to Forli traveled to Victoria Kužmová, "said Liptak through videoconference call from St. Petersburg, Russia, where this week accompanied Cibulkova of WTA tournament.

The Italians are clear Lipták favoritky, Slovaks, however, may surprise you. "If we were in a team Dominic, we would have a better chance of success. Even absence Kiky Kucova see it as weakening, but certainly in advance not to store weapons. Kaja and Daniela have a great Fed Cup experience. Their form is not ideal, but the Fed Cup is something completely different than the tournament. Kaja has Board of clay and the only has a positive balance of Vinci. Daniela is rutinérka and should be supportive for young players. Šramková has great potential, is dangerous. i count on the fact that Italians are taken up with Vinci and Errani and will try to break Francesca Schiavone. Karin Knapppová is injured and Camila Giorgi has a long dispute with the Italian tennis Federation, " said Liptak.

Slovaks flew to the scene of the match Monday, February 6 at 14.30. Introductory Saturday's singles started at PalaGalassi hall at 15.00. On Sunday from 13.00 in the program are two more singles and doubles final. The main referee is a German Norbert Peick, in the role of arbitrators is presented empajrových Frenchman Pascal Maria and a German Miriam Bleyová. Play with balls Dunlop Clay Court. (TASR)

Fed Cup vs Italy, 11-12 February.

OK. Now things begin to make sense. Daniela may well not have known that her country would need her again at the time she entered the ITF tourneys. She then probably chose not to travel to America than have to shoot back over to Italy. Too bad she had to miss out on all the glamourous opportunities that Midland, Michigan offers to tourists in January. ;) I hope now she gets a chance to play and enjoy Fed Cup again, maybe help get Slovakia a key point.

Daniela is listed in the main draw of next week's ITF $25,000 event in Rancho Santa Fe, California. If I read it right, she will first face a qualifier.

According to her instagram, Daniela's in Acapulco. She's not on the entry list and there's no mention of her getting a wildcard so we'll see what happens there.

Daniela's playing two ITF $25,000 events at Santa Margherita Di Pula, Italy, 20 -26 March & 27 March - 2 April

Both tournaments are taking place at ASD Fortevillage, which is a resort complex in Sardinia.

There's another $25,000 event in the same place starting on 3 April. The entry list for that isn't available yet but Daniela's likely to be playing in the same place three weeks in a row.
