CZE and Greece to advance. Pretty good performance against Poland, especially in 2nd half. Surprised to see Greece sending Russia home, but this group was very even, anyone could have advanced. Now I hope that Rosicky's injury gets better and he will be able to play in QF.

I was cheering for Russia, so I am bumbed. And today probably won't go my way either. I seriously doubt that Denmark can get a point or three points against Germany.

Everyone that played Netherlands was the grater.

Greasyano Ronaldo has turned his vain, preening narcissism up to 11, the ego has well and truly landed. Most of the other egoists here are at least amusing in some way.

BTW, what's Joe Hart ever done to Zlatan Ibrahimovic? Zlatan had a right go at him after the second Swedish goal against England and then took a swig from Hart's water bottle later in the game.

The group B teams dominated the group A teams in the quarter-final. Portugal and Germany did all the attacking while Czech Republic and Greece basically parked the bus, chances are that if Denmark or even netherlands had been in Group A they'd have qualified. Some groups have been tougher than others but the quality has been fairly high, but because there are going to be 24 finalists next time round, it means that there are going to be a lot of average teams and some bad teams there next time round and the overall quality will be diluted. This time most of the teams were of a pretty good level so it's been a good tournament.

there'll be 24 teams in 2016? What format will they play? I mean, how many groups, how many will advance? And what about qualifying to the championships? Just trying to figure out what this means to Denmark and our chances.

The Scottish and Irish FAs proposed that the finals get expanded to 24 teams in 2008 at a EUFA meeting and that proposal got passed because it means all the top teams are virtually guaranteed to qualify while it gives most of the other countries a better chance to qualify.
I'd imagine that there will be 6 groups of 4 teams with the top two from each group going through plus the four best 3rd placed teams which was what happened at World Cups between 1986 and 1994.
