Woof! That's a beasting.

Agnieszka beat Venus in Miami losing only 5 games. Since then Venus had good runs in the clay tournaments to prepare for Roland Garros. Agnieszka beat her again losing 5 games and everyone acknowledged Aga was the better player. Venus shows so much more class than her sister who'll leave a poor legacy.

Yes, Agnieszka has beaten a below-par Venus on two occasions this year. And on those two occasions it was widely acknowledged that she had been the better player on the day.

Epic brat-fest from Caro today as she goes down 1-6 7-6 3-6 to Kanepi. Nearly reached Hingis levels.

Kanepi finally beat Wozniacki after loads of MPs. Kanepi really should have won much more easily than she did but she got nervous when she had the opportunities to finish it but she got the job done eventually. I can't remember the last match that had that many moonballs. She'll play Arantxa Rus who just beat Goerges, Goerges was incredibly stroppy and almost didn't shake hands with Rus at the end. Shazza looks awfully good in that quarter.

Yes, you've agreed that I'm right so the matter's closed.

The carnage continues as Domi pummels Azarenka 6-2 7-6(4). Simply a great tie-break by Domi with winners flying all over the place.

Second year in a row a Slovak upends the world number one at Roland Garros.

Women's top seed and world number 1 out, and men's top seed and world number 1 two-sets down. Would be huge if Djokovic went out today as well.

And I think it seems you're agreeing with me that Venus was below par, which is really at the crux of this discussion and the match result.

Second year in a row a Slovak upends the world number one at Roland Garros.

Also the 2nd year straight that Wozniacki went down in the 3rd round. Very pleasant memories. Please come back in Birmingham, Daniela, and create some more of those! We'd all love to know that Dani's already in Britain, getting the jump on everyone with some practice on grass. I wouldn't be surprised, but I'd enjoy some news.

I don't know if any of you read my idea of Daniela being the flag bearer in the Olympic opening ceremony. Should anyone think that would be a good thing and want to help get this rolling, the e-mail address for the Slovakian Olympic Committee is . I just sent my idea to them. May many more follow! :P

Let's Go, Daniela!

Great win by Dominika, the match in Miami gave her so much confidence and it really shook Azarenka because she's not been the same player since. That half of the draw has really opened and most of the players will feel they've got a good shot at the final. Errani's won 3 clay tournaments this year and she got to the Australian Open quarters, Kerber's shot up the ranking since the US Open, Stosur's the US Open champ and the runner-up from 2010 and Dominika got to the semi-final in 09.

You go and think that, totally changing your tune and distorting what's said, typical of you when presented with facts and the truth.

Seeing all this tennis makes me want Daniela back so much, I just want her to get her health back and get back playing like she was in Australia and Pattaya.

Cibulkova and Errani both played very well today. Errani's excellent results in singles and doubles this year (she is ranked 5 in the world for 2012 in terms of prize money) have clearly brought much confidence, and she has the recent memory of a quarter-final run in Melbourne. Cibulkova in comparison hasn't had big tournament results (her best result this year being a loss to Errani in the final of Barcelona). As chungwit mentioned, though, she did come close to beating Azarenka in Miami, and that would have certainly given her confidence in today's match, in addition to the fact that she has had decent results at RG in the past while, for Azarenka, clay is the surface least suited to her playing style. It's worth noting too, though, that the conditions today definitely helped Cibulkova.
It'd be interesting if Cibulkova and Errani both got through to the semis, but I think Kerber might have too much game for the Italian. And Stosur may benefit from a big-win-lull from Cibulkova.

Sammy was awful today-so many shanks and poor backhands. Still it's easy to see how much that huge kick serve will trouble the diminutive Cibulkova.
