A solid win by Daniela. She played pretty well overall and although there was a wobble or two she was always able to step it up when she needed to.

"This court I really like and suit me well that I just played the first game of today's program on it. I went to this really very confident, I went home and throughout the meeting I felt that I keep events under control. Although Šuaj Zhang occasionally played something good, I nerozoberala, nothing of which I have not been doing. I knew is that I can still add and increase the pace if need be. Could it be from my side and even better result may be smoother, but played I am what I needed," said Daniela Hantuchova.

"Last week in Strasbourg, I played very well, just here for training. I'm currently in training is really cool and it's only to be transferred to the matches that it fully reflected in them. Against Erraniovej in Pattaya was my advantage of the fast surface, well I servovala, I could have it then 'blow' out of court. But she knows to be especially on clay terribly inconvenient rival, or the ball is given to you free. Today is perfectly able, when it reached a turnover of 0:5 in the third set. I have way to pack the court nerves, be patient and stay calm when something comes out to me. It will be a difficult match," said Slovak.

"The first match on grandslamoch never normally not easy. I'm glad I managed it in two sets. At today's meeting I boarded with confidence. Last week in Strasbourg, and during training in Paris, I felt great. The form is only to be carried forward to the matches . My victory over Šuaj Čangovou could be even more explicit, but in both sets I was under the impression a bit High edge poľavila. but I played as much as I needed and the first round it was a solid performance," said Hantuchova, by the semi-finals with Nemko Andrea Petkovičovou in Strasbourg still pobolieva cervical spine.

"I go to physical therapy and trying to straighten the neck and back, because the clay gives a hard time. It's not perfect, I can play with it and most importantly to me," said Hantuchova, which surprised that in 2nd round off against Erraniovej.

"In the third set already replayed 0:5, but with Maťom Liptov citizens, we said that it may yet turn calmly. Kebyže got her head so I can be a world leader. I can not free the ball on clay and it will be much more difficult match than in Pattaya, where I put it through high-quality lodging and quickly exploded."

Nice win today. Up next is Errani who came back from 5-0 down in the third set against McHale. Too bad the match is not tomorrow since Daniela would have a substantial conditioning edge.

yeah, that was a strange performance by Ivanovic. She could have won comfortably 6-4 6-0, but lost the first set in the tiebreak, and had too much problems in the decider, finally losing 6-7(3) 6-0 2-6

quite a long match, too bad they lost.
But obviously they were concentrating on the singles event anyway:

We don't know what we can do in a Slam, but we'll see. It's more important just having fun and enjoying the tennis :)

It's a shame that Daniela and Agnieszka went out in the doubles because they could have put in a nice run here. Singles is more important though so hopefully Daniela's ready for tomorrow.

Didn't she play her 2nd round match last year on court 7? Is this a televised court? I will say that the Aus Open and US Open almost always give Dani the show courts, not huge ones, but she almost always plays in MCA at Oz and is always at least on the Grandstand at the US Open. Last year she did play her first round match at Wimbledon on court 1, but I think that's because she played an American and wasn't that a last minute change? Where's the love in Europe?
