This is really depressing, she really deserved that 1st set and now any belief she had is gone...just enjoy her being on tv guys.

Daniela seems unable to see what she needs to do when under pressure. Just a couple of times she has done the right thing this year. Playing the rally, putting pressure, and it works (it had worked here when used).

But no, she just goes for the wild percentage shot and UE after UE... The serve is also atrocious. Elena seems to be an amazingly solid server against daniela :(

Consolation hold, Elena will have at least two chances to serve for the match...5-7 2-5

So, that is it... really nothing can't be said that we haven't already said before about daniela's form...

She needs to realize this. Her serve has become just such a liabilty...
I'll root know for Elena, but Im sure she'll find a way to waste her chances, daniela and her are cut from the same tree

Good luck in doubles :|

The end of the day Daniela didn't take those set points in the 1st set, a bit of rain and Daniela understandably lost her rhythm and from then she just crumbled and Elena was very consistent...

Such a shame...

Hope Caroline can cheer her up in doubles...

Pretty poor result really. Daniela totally fell away after having set points. The commentator hit the hammer on the nail when he said "this will be a tough one for Daniela to explain away". Elena didn't really play well. She managed to serve better than Daniela though... so i guess that pretty much sums it up.

I'm not sure how understandable her loss in concentration was. Play was stopped for a grand total of 1 minute. This one can really only be chalked up to Daniela's poor play.

I expected Elena to win this one,so I can't really say that I'm surprised, but my God it is disappointing to see Daniela collapse like this again. She is in the autumn of her career, playing on one of the biggest stages available in tennis and she folded like a cheap tent. She has to show more pride in her performance, else days on show courts like AA will become few and far between.

I really can't understand what happened. Until 5-2, Dani was playing good tennis but when she lost those set points it was like she "broke", like someone "switched her off". Lena became more aggressive and it seemed that Dani didn't have the answers.

Since then, her body was on court but her mind wasn't. Daniela stopped moving while Lena
was hitting winners one after another. The second sets' story was something like " Dani error / Lena winner " etc.
A defeat to Lena is understandable, but what bothered me most was her lack of
fighting spirit at the second set where she was like a lamb to the slaughter...

Could it be her thigh ?
I would appreciate it if Daniela doesn't mention that as an excuse at the press conference.

Well, on to Tokyo - isn't that the next tournament ?

2009: AO - 3R, FO - 1R, W - 4R, USO - 4R
2010: AO - 3R, FO - 4R, W - 2R, USO - 3R

nothing change

QF or SF are still not here, and looks on long way.
