Such a good first set and then this...

that game at 2:3 was crucial! Daniela had 3 BP and didnt take any of those! Even though Peer served 2 aces, daniela should have taken at least one of those :(

Im so disappointed :(

Poor Daniela. Again and again. Another good match was lost :/

Oh Daniela. Excruciating doesn't even begin to describe what happened-UFE all over the shop apparently. She's been in a funk since the French Open and this isn't exactly going to help matters. She should seriously think about hiring a serving coach because she can't hold for toffee at the moment.

Poor daniela. She will be crushed by this. She's better than this. Oh well she needs to work out why this keeps happening...

Not even that 6-0 set gave me confidence that Daniela was going to win. Sad... Shahar is suppossed to be injured, and she still won. Since we didnt watch, we cant asses about danielas performance. I hope she realizes she needs to be taking on the small tournaments (no such thing during the US open series) to improve her raking and get better draws. Im doubtful she'll ever follow that path, though. What will be her ranking now?

She should hire a coach with more experience, one that helps her improve her serve. I dont get why she let Eduardo Nicolás go again in favor of her current one. Cahill hasnt paid much attention to her again, has he? Cant believe her strongest tennis came on clay :s Please, prove me wrong, daniela :)

Now we can only hope she will have a good result at some of the other US Open Series, in which she had an early round exit... but theres only hope, like always :((

Daniela when will you get something you really deserve again - a success :(

Never?

I just don't want to post something here... She always gives a little hope, like with 1st set and then mess it up. That's the story.
To be realistic, I don't expect much from her anymore. Maybe a QF in New Heaven, as only few good players play there.

Cahill hasnt paid much attention to her again, has he? Don't get me started on this. What on earth did Eduardo do wrong? And for that matter what did Larri do wrong, except take her from being a hot mess who was sliding inexorably down the rankings and put her career back on track?

Cahill has been hired by Gonzo, and the buzz is that Murray is also looking to work with him. I personally couldn't blame him if he decided to work with the surly Scot.

Reminds me of the semi-final match against Ivanovic at the 2008 Australian Open.
I would imagine that first set gave Peer a much-needed wake-up call and she brought her game together over the course of the second set and then played some of her better tennis in the third.
Daniela will lose ranking points now, and unfortunately won't have alot of confidence going into her next tournament. Lets just hope she can do something at either Cincinnati or Montreal, where there's big points on offer.

A strong field in San Diego next week also so it could be another tough tournament for Daniela.

I'd just have to accept that Daniela might be a hard person to work with. Maybe she doesn't like to stay with a coach for a long time, or she just doesn't have a clue about what she needs. Eduardo brought her game to a nice consistency (even then she was having R1 losses but much stronger runs), he then gives her the oportunity again, as only coach (no longer in Sanchez Casal) and she dumps him.

I have no idea about coaches or if her current one (an inexperienced kid? he is younger than her, I think), but something seems to be off in this partnership. Her serve NEEDS to be a weapon or at least stop being so unreliable, Daniela is over 1.80 for crying out loud!

I'm just fed up that I can't see a way for her to get out of this sick inconsistency and poor play, not with the way things seem to be handled at the moment.
