That was a bit tense. It's a shame the match couldn't have continued for a bit as Daniela would have had all the momentum and would surely have gone on to build up a big lead at the very least. Still, you've got to favour Daniela to finish the job tomorrow as King can't possibly play as well as she did for the first set and a half. You've got to give King credit as she played very well, she was taking the ball early and taking time away from Daniela and she hit some amazing shots, especially her backhand down the line, and a lot of them were no fucking way shots as I said "no fucking way" when King made them because I couldn't believe that she did. You do feel that King was in the zone and playing about as well as she can. If King could play like that more often she'd be ranked an awful lot higher. Sam Smith, who was commentating, said it was easily King's best match of the year and one of the best of her career.

Daniela will have evaluated King's game and tactics, so she'll have answers to King's game and I don't think that King can play as well as she did for the first set and a half here when everything was going right for her and she wasn't missing. Daniela should be able to play with more variety and not let King settle into any rhythm, if she does that, she'll be able to impose herself upon King and take control of the match. At the same time, King won the first set here and in Monterey so over one set anything could happen but you've got to favour Daniela. Daniela's got to start well and put the pressure on King right away and make sure that King doesn't get any rhythm. As long as Daniela plays well, she should win this tomorrow.
Well, King was sometimes a bit lucky during those no fucking way shots :D But thats tennis...

Daniela must fight tomorrow, not to let King lead and play her game again...

court 5 is a show court, so we will be able to see it. B

They should give it to the court 1 again. But maybe Daniela wont mind the change of court. Hope King will have more problems cos she was playing really well on n.1 today :D

Whew! Daniela finally got out of second gear when *1-4 down in the second. She can be a painfully slow starter,so nothing should be taken for granted tomorrow.

Masha was frighteningly good today. :|

Daniela almost choke this match. King really believe that she can beat Hantuchova. Do you remember Monterrey's match??

This is Wimbledon and I do hope Daniela will bring her best tomorrow. But once again, this is a anoying start as AUS Open R1.

I guess it's sort of relieving to hear that King played well, but Daniela really should have too many weapons and too much power for her no matter what her level. Strycova upset Vesnina, so round two beckons with a potentially easy opponent if she can get there. Good luck tomorrow.

I think it's pretty ridiculous they aren't completing the match on court no.1....

Good luck anyway Daniela. Keep focussed and you can storm through the final set...

Oh well, daniela shouldve been more dominant and able to fix her game under the preassure king was puting on her. I still can't believe how many times she has faced a girl who is having "the match of her life". I hope tomorrow danka will come focused and guns blazing to close it up.

BTW, those of you who are concerned for the possible Sharapova clash in R3: 1st. Danka has to get there, and she isn't even finished with her opener, which I truly hope she wins. And 2nd, Maria, who I'm sure is playing good tennis, also faced a Lucky Loser that got double bageled on her last qualy match. Destroying such an oponent doesn't say much about Sharapova's form, it means she takes her chances (daniela could use some of this :P ).

everything is getting bad for daniela.....:/ the change of court can kake some problems, cause it´s smaller court and daniela really likes the big arenas with larger field....:/ and she´s starting her matches so slowly!
