i don't care who will win the women's title, all i hoped was that Sharapova wouldn't. So I really apprecciated her loss against Safina

btw: There's an amazing atmosphere at the match of Monfils and Ljubicic! The crowd made a Mexican wave for minutes and the umpire just couldn't stop it :D
Gael really anjoyed it while Ivan sat down and waited for its end.

And it worked, Gael playes as hell and got the double break in the 4th set and won 7:6 4:6 6:3 6:2
In the end he danced on the court

cool guy and deserved win!

Safina's comeback was impressive today. 5-2 down in the second set, then 5-3 and match-point down, got it to a tie-break, was 5-2 points down, but came back by winning 5 points in a row, and then came back from an early break deficit in the final set to take the match 6-7[6] 7-6[5] 6-2. Definately a potential finalist and could possibly even take the title. Top half of the draw is wide open now and she beat Dementieva (her quarter-finalist opponent) in Berlin a few weeks ago so anything is possible.

that monfils guy makes me so sick, he's so full off himself , he already irritate me the last two editions vs Norman and Rochus , so i will never like him , and he was always kinda the rival of Richie during the Juniors.

But another french player who perform well this season at a slam (Tsonga,Llodra,Benneteau,Mathieu,Chardy) and still no results from the mental case...

for the women i hope kuznetsova or safina wins it , everyone except the serbians...
kinda boring tournament without Daniela, tati, justine, some early exits (Nicole,Williams sisters) for the quarterfinals. Not looking forward to those matches.

Only the ninja turtle vs djokovic and the winner of that vs Roger will be great

It's not that much of a shock that Safina beat Shazza considering that Shazza had been playing poorly in the previous rounds against fairly modest opponents, Safina was in good form having won Berlin and she'd beaten Shazza at the same stage two years ago. Safina came back from a big deficit to win then and lightning struck twice :D.

It's a bit of a shame that there isn't going to be a Stepanek v Monfils quarter-final as I was quite looking forward to them having a dance-off whenever they won a point. I think Stepanek started to devote too much energy to his celebrations and not enough to his tennis because he won three consecutive games to get to 3-4 playing some really good shots and Ferrer was making errors, but celebrated a bit too enthusiastically, started to make errors again while Ferrer played better -probably motivated by Stepanek's celebrations.

With Gonzalez & Monfils in the quarter-final, the conclusion is that beer & babes make you good at tennis:

Daniela Hantuchova is right about everything.

Djokovic v Gulbis match is really tight. Djokovic leads 7-5 7-6 2-2*. Gulbis was 4-2 up in the second but Djokovic fought back.
Djokovic eventually takes it 7-5 7-6[3] 7-5 - don't think he will take a set off Nadal.

Nadal is thrashing Almagro 6-1 3-0*. I can't see anyone beating Nadal this year at Roland Garros.
Nadal wins 6-1 6-1 6-1. He's dropped six games in his last two matches, and just 25 games overall in his five matches. :o

I only caught the last set of the Nadal/Almagro match and I cant for the life of me see anyone beating Nadal in this event. Almagro is no push over on clay and he was taken to school by the master and Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic will need to game of there career's to challenge for Nadals clay crown on Sunday

i still hope djokovic and federer push him to five sets, cause so far it's a very boring RG. But im afraid only Federer will take one set of him and that's it...
