I did feel a little sorry for U. Radwanska. Imagine getting bawled out by your big sister in public.

Oh I missed Danka match at Eurosport. :(
Nice win though.

Anyway, what do you mean by big sister chungwit? I thought Urzula sister was Agniezska.

At the changeover between sets, Agnieszka came on court to give advice to Urszula and spent the time ranting away and Agnieszka was pretty pissed off aand let Urszula know it. Urszula just sat there looking upset while Agnieszka was like the drill instructor from Full Metal Jacket.
Agnieszka is usually so chilled during her own matches.

Daniela Hantuchova is right about everything.

Oh you mean 'bawled' ?
Poor Urszula. But I bet Danka can also wipe out Agnieszka too.

I really dislike the way that on-court coaching is being used to berate and dress down players. In recent months I've seen Wozniacki getting chewed out by her dad,Safina's coach give her a royal bollocking and we had Aga's antics today. I'm dubious as to whether it has any positive effect at all.

I know in Daniela's matches, where she's lost the plot(which happens quite frequently ;) ) a few gentle suggestions and an arm-around-the-shoulder approach has worked much better.

Seems that was a quite comfortable win today. Really like the draw now. Hope Daniela can benefit from that and take her chances.

I was unsure about it at the start, but it can provide funny moments too. In Charleston last year Sharapova's coach came onto court during her match against Serena Williams, and the coach almost said 'beat the b*tch', but quickly changed his words to 'beat the girl'. Sharapova found it quite funny, and the coach said something like: 'I almost messed up big there'.

You are right that sometimes coaches are not careful, get carried away by their own emotions and what should be beneficial for their charges is not. But if we are speaking about Safina's coach, I would say he does an excellent job. He almost always points out the exact problem and then tells Safina how to effectively deal with it, not only motivates her. Considering her recent success and all those comebacks in matches I even think that Safina might be the player who benefits from on-court coaching the most.

Still,Dinara's performances in the last few Slams(Wimbledon excepted)show she's very capable of negotiating tough situations by herself.

BTW can you imagine any coach taking a similar approach to Marat? He'd probably end up wearing the racket!

Great result today, a nice comfortable win by the looks of things which was exactly what was required after yesterdays tough match, the draw has really opened up for Daniela and this is a great opportunity to get to a final, not just any old final but a clay final and hopefully against Zakopalova she can provide another good showing and get through to the semi final stage

It's great to see Daniela get a lopsided win like this; I imagine it's very good for her confidence. And as pointed out above, she really does have a great chance at a final and even a title here.

On another note, Zheng sure made me look like I knew what I was talking about (which doesn't happen often, ) by crashing out today 6-0, 6-4. Not that I want to say I told you so when I said she was the weakest of the players ranked in the top 20.

BTW I watched the Eurosport repeat and Radwanska fell into pieces in that second set. Aga's tirade did no good at all.

If you say so.
