I hope she will play at Roland-Garros.
But, if she does, maybe she won't have played one match on red clay before. So even if she plays, it will be very difficult.

We have a situation where your head is arguing with your heart. My heart says that I want to see Daniela on court as soon as possible, and definatly want to see her at Roland Garros but then the head says shes recovering from a serious injury and that she shouldnt rush back. Im sure she is getting impatient with just sitting around and rehabbing apart from being out on court, but hopefully she listens to her doctor and does the sensible thing and doesnt come back until she is 100%, and if that means missing the 2nd grand slam of the year, then so be it Scott |

The Los Angeles Times reported today that Daniela has already committed to the Los Angeles tournament once again. It's shaping up to be a loaded field for a tier two with Jankovic, Kuznetsova, both Williams sisters and Vaidisova already in. Ivanovic, as defending champion, and Sharapova, her home town, will almost certainly enter as well. I safely presume Daniela will once again play Stanford (also tier two) the week before which should be a much more hospitable field. I wonder if she would play Montreal the week after LA or head straight for the Olympics? |

I wonder if she would play Montreal the week after LA or head straight for the Olympics? I think its a safe bet that she will head straight for the olympics as the rogers cup isnt normally on Daniela's schedule Scott |

Its not very likely, that Daniela will participate at the French Open this year. Their slovak physician said for todays Pravda daily, her injury looks still "very bad". But Daniela must decide itself about it, he added. |

this is really sad news this season is becoming hell it started so great with her best grand slam ever, watching her live training and playing in Antwerp and now all this... i hope she isn't to sad, she reacted well on the withdraw for Istanbul |

The bad news keeps on coming, really looking unlikely now that Daniela will appear at Roland Garros which will be the first grand slam Daniela has missed in her career but if she's not fit and able to play, then we take it on the chin and continue to look forward to her return hopefully in time for Wimbledon at the very least Scott |

Q: How does healing of the injured foot continue? DH: Slowly, very slowly. A couple of days ago I had a medical control and they made new tests. I will know more after seeing the outcomes. I have been visiting doctor Roman Fano (Slovakia Davis and Fed Cup teams doctor), but also went to doctor in Italy. Q: Do you still have a splint on your foot? DH: They have already taken it down. I can walk normally but already after 10 minutes I feel pain. It's terrible. Q: Doctor Fano prescribed you absolute rest. Do you follow doctors' advices? DH: This time nothing else is an option. I have no other choice. Q: Do you miss tennis? DH: A lot! I can't wait to return on courts. I have never been without tennis for such a long time until now. Why, I haven't hold racket in my hand for almost one month. Because of this pause I realized again how much I love tennis. On the other hand I was given an opportunity to live a normal life for a while. Q: What do you do in your free time? DH: I put my mind on myself, people close to me and things I normally don't have enough time for. However, I am not forgetting my preparation and spend some time at the gym as well. Q: Do you follow course of events on tennis courts out there? DH: I do, but not the results. I am more interested in how my opponents are playing. Q: What about your comeback on tennis courts? Will you return in time for Roland Garros? DH: I have no idea really. It's premature to talk about it. Truth is that even if I took a racket right tomorrow and went on courts, it would be too soon and my preparation wouldn't be sufficient. Doctor Roman Fano, who made control tests of Daniela's heel, said this: "It's bad, it doesn't look good. The outcomes of the tests are already available and now I am gonna consult them with Daniela. As for RG, from objective point of view Daniela's participation there is not very realistic. But the ultimate decision is hers. |

Oh thank you Lunaris. Daniela is right, even if she could run, playing a tournament now would be useless because of the lack of preparation. It's great to hear how much she loves tennis and that she's missing it a lot... sorry but after her injury and after Henin it would be too much for me |
