I hope she can play in Wimbledon... even if she won't pobably have good results (no practice)

The Bank of the West Classic, the WTA's annual stop at Stanford University slated to begin July 14, has received commitments from French standout Marion Bartoli and Slovakian star Daniela Hantuchova, giving this year's event commitments from three of the top-10 women's tennis players in the world.

I think Daniela should be able to play the hardcourt season providing she doesn't come back too soon and re-injure her heel or get another injury. She'll have three weeks to rest and prepare for Rosmalen and Wimbledon and grass will be a lot easier to play on than clay or hardcourt, but that depends on what her medical team says and I'm sure she'll take their advice, like she did for Roland Garros. It takes around two months for a stress fracture to heal, so it should heal in time for Wimbledon but Daniela will be short of practice, so I'm not expecting too much there and what I'm most hoping for is that she doesn't get hurt. If she gets through Wimbledon okay or waits until Stanford to return, then she should be fine to play the rest of the year

I'd say that Daniela's mistake was to play Amelia Island as she said on her official site that her doctors were amazed that she'd played there and she said on the site at the time that she was getting foot treatment and it was in a fairly matter-of-fact manner: "My daily activities consisted of two long practice sessions and one gym workout. On top of all that, on most days, I had photo shoots, TV and print interviews, sponsor obligations, tournament commitments, foot treatments, etc…" If she'd missed Amelia Island and gotten treatment right after Miami then she wouldn't have aggravated the injury at Amelia Island and would be in better shape. I think she'd still have missed the Fed Cup, Berlin and Rome but could have been fit for Roland Garros and would be fit for Wimbledon. What's happened has happened, we've got no control over it and all we can hope for is that Daniela rehabs, gets better and comes back 100%.

When exactly came the sign that you can‘t continue like that?
DH: It was coming, but I didn‘t listen. To be more accurate, I didn‘t want to listen. I didn‘t believe it could be that bad.

Everyone must pay the price for being stubborn and careless, Daniela will be lucky to play the Olympics imo.

yes you are right.
the day after the fair but i agree with chungwit about amelia.
i am hoping to hear happy news in the next update from her site

To think just a few weeks ago she was on the cover of Ace magazine, talking about her "olympic dream", and now she may not even get there or, if she does, may not have enough match practise in order to do well. Its a real shame.

If I am not mistaken, I read on her official website that Daniela will be back for Rosmalen..
She say that she will be heal when the tournament arrive..

I think that if she won't get herself injured again, it's fine..
She will play the match there as preparation for Wimbledon...

Daniela already has a special shoe(s) and her doctor has decided to change the way of Daniela's treatment (didn't specify how exactly). The healing process is quite slow. She seems to be rather impatient from how it sounds, which is not surprising. Wimbledon remains a possibility but I personally don't believe she will play.

There's not a whole lot of good news here. As of Tuesday or Wednesday, she still hasn't run yet. And changing treatments means she still needs treatment and/or the current one has not worked as they hoped. I suppose it's good that she's talking about Rosmalen, it's means it's possible particularly if she's willing to play without much practice.

The one which says she will play Rosmalen is just a bad translation of the latest post on Daniela's official website. Maybe intentional bad translation because that newspaper is a tabloid and they would write anything in the headlines to sell more stuff.

Post subject:  Mission Impossible???

Spanish press said yesterday that Hantuchova is on her way to come back and will be healthy enough to play Wimbledon. They wrote that Daniela is one of favourite (If she will recover 100%) with Sharapova, Ivanovic for the title.

Mission Impossible???

If shes 100% and has match practice, its possible for her to reach the later stages, otherwise I dont think so! As for the title? It would need a favourable draw, which she hasn't received in recent years
