Daniela will probably be doing media work at the Australian Open as well as playing. Fox Sports Asia have the rights and Daniela worked for them at Wimbledon and she also had an offer to work for them at the US Open but she did Let's Dance instead.

Daniela Hantuchova is right about everything.

Wimbledon Legends Doubles

Li Na and Marion Bartoli in the board of the legends of Wimbledon
15 June 2018 09:00
by LUIGI GATTO

It will be a board of legends doubles at Wimbledon interesting that for the next edition in July. Former world number two Li Na, Marion Bartoli (who recently announced that it will not return to play tennis at a professional level), and Kim Clijsters Conchita Martinez will be some of the former players at the start.

Li Na, who won two Slams in his career (2011 French Open and 2014 Australian Open) will make his first "official" appearance on a tennis court in a long time: since October 2014 withdrew for knee problems, you it is dedicated especially to the family, having become a mother again. Li Na will team up with Japan's Ai Sugiyama, while Bartoli will play alongside Daniela Hantuchova.

Possibility of an exhibition in Luxembourg.

Ladies' tennis tournament in Coque in October with 2 former number 1
From Rich Simon | Update: 08.12.2021 19:46

After learning that the WTA tournament at the Kockelscheier was no longer organized, there was on Wednesday evening 1st information about a new tournament.

It's an invitational tournament in Coque, where matches are played from Thursday, October 20th until Sunday, October 23rd. 8 players are invited who do not currently have a WTA ranking.

The president of the tournament, Dan Maas, announced names like Julia Görges, Martina Hingis, Ana Ivanovic, Daniela Hantuchova or even Kim Clijsters as possible players.

However, Dan Maas emphasized that no contracts had been signed with these players.

It should be noted, however, that two former number 1 players came to Luxembourg, two female players who were in the top 10 and four female players who were in the top 50 in the world during their active careers.

There will be a prize money of 100,000 Euros, with the winner receiving 40,000 Euros.

Unique in Europe / A new tennis chapter in Luxembourg: Invitation tournament planned in the Coque

At a press conference, the International Women's Tennis Promotion (IWTP) announced that an invitation tournament will take place in the Coque next October. The new event is supposed to be a kind of “Legends Invitational”, in which former top players are lured to Luxembourg. This is a unique event in Europe.

Now it's official and the Luxembourg tennis fan can look forward to it. After the longstanding collaboration with the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) ended in September, the women's tournament is returning to its roots. As in the years 1991 to 1995, the event will be held as an invitation tournament. The new concept of the IWTP provides for eight former "internationally renowned players" to be invited to compete for 100,000 euros in prize money. Among other things, the organization team is aiming to lure Ana Ivanovic, Caroline Wozniacki, Daniela Hantuchova, Martina Hingis and Julia Görges to Luxembourg. Mandy Minella could also be one of the players - the prerequisite for this is that the Luxembourger has officially ended her career by then.

“At 40,000 euros, the prize money for the winner is almost twice as high as at the last WTA tournament,” said tournament director Danielle Maas on Wednesday evening. The ambitions are great: Among other things, two former number one and two former top 10 players are targeted.

The tournament is to be played between October 19 and 23, 2022 in quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals, with a spectator capacity in the Coque of up to 1,200 spectators. “The quarter-finals start on the first two days of the competition, before the two semi-finals and then the final will be held on the weekend at spectator-friendly times,” explained Maas.

A VIP club with catering and a “Village” for the general public will make the new event attractive for visitors. In addition, RTL and Eurosport have committed to live broadcasts. It was also extremely important for the IWTP to regain the "familiar touch" of the tournament. According to Maas, various forums and "talks" are planned with the stars to address various topics such as gender equality and sports nutrition. Under the strict WTA regulations, this was no longer possible in Kockelscheuer in recent years. The official tournament name and logo will be presented at the next press conference on May 3, 2022.

Roland-Garros 2023: The Trophée des Légendes gets a makeover
Friday 19 May 2023 - Romain Vinot

The Trophée des Légendes by Emirates has adopted an exciting new look for this year’s Parisian Grand Slam event.

Mixed doubles takes centre stage

First held in 1998 in the shape of a men’s competition, with the women joining in 2010, the Trophée des Légendes by Emirates puts the fun into Roland-Garros. Supported and loved by everyone with a soft spot for great gestures and crazy rallies, the tennis champions of yesteryear come together with the aim of putting smiles on faces.

This year’s competition will feature men’s, women’s and mixed doubles exhibition matches, with 14 top-quality encounters not to be missed, all of them held on Court Suzanne-Lenglen in the closing days of the tournament.

Last year’s women’s doubles winners, Flavia Pennetta and Francesca Schiavone, will be out to retain their title. The duo will not be short of quality opposition, with Kim Clijsters, Lindsey Davenport, Agnieszka Radwanska, Nathalie Dechy, Gabriela Sabatini, Gisela Dulko, Tatiana Golovin, Nathalie Tauziat, Daniela Hantuchova and Caroline Wozniacki all hoping to shine at the Porte d’Auteuil.

And with mixed doubles on the bill too, it promises to be a competition to remember. Be there at Court Suzanne-Lenglen from 6 to 11 June!
