something just came to mind about the whole Linz/Luxembourg situation. Luxembourg is an Octagon tournament. Linz isn't. Could that be a factor in her playing Luxembourg?

Sorry but what is OCTAGON tournament??

I used to think the whole re-vamp of her official website was due to her switching from IMG to Octagon, now I am not sure what is going on.

Same for Antwerp and Moscow, last time she played in Russia was 2004 and in the last 5 years she only played Antwerp in 2003-2006 and now again cause the organisator is from Octagon aswell

i guess that's probably a part of the deal when she signed for that agency

Since Dementieva is also an Octagon player and she is number one seed in Luxembourg (the last time I checked she was) it would make sense that Daniela plays there instead of Linz.

This is a really grotesque example of tennis politics if what christina says is true. Daniela should be allowed to defend her title.

Perhaps it's better that she will play a lower tier tournament. That's where she can find some lost confidence by beating several players, although I think even that is going to be hard.

I think in the circumstances, it would probably be better if Daniela didnt defend her title in Linz because the added pressure that is put on you being defending champion is the last thing she needs right now. Get luxembourg out the way and we can forget about tennis for a while

You're probably correct-I guess I was just hoping that returning to the scene of an earlier triumph might just give Daniela the infusion of confidence she needs. It worked in Indian Wells last year!

Having said that,she also played exceptionally well in Luxembourg last year. The Bartoli match was Daniela at her absolute best-33 winners in 16 games!

No information on the website, but on tennisforum.com they say that she is not playing in Canada next week

After Petrova and Srebotnik teamed up some weeks ago and won a WTA tour, it was posted (on wtatour.com) that they would be partners next year. People on tennisforum started asking: who will Ai team up with. A couple of days ago, the answer was posted:

posted in GM:

Ai is going to play with Daniela next year again.

Kata and Ai are still good friends.
They believed they'd win GS, but they couldn't... They talked about it over time... and maybe with new partners they could be a bit refreshed...

Daniela and Ai played during the spring (I think?), and Daniela realized playing with Ai was really fun. They really had good time playing doubles together before. Both Ai and Daniela will focus on singles next year, but they believe they can damage in many tournaments. So that was the decision!!
I think it'll be fun!!!

good cause doubles was boring this year , she didn't had good partners last months , only Davenport was a good one

Very interesting news. I think two things can be read into this-Lindsay is on the verge of hanging up her racket,and Daniela must be feeling very confident about her heel to commit to a doubles schedule with such a stalwart of the womens doubles scene. All of a sudden I'm feeling a lot more confident about next season!

Hats off to Ai BTW. Still going strong after all these years.

i am pretty sure will see a strong hantuchova next year.
was just very unlucky this year,her injury was more serious than anyone was expecting
i dont know what you are thinking but i am very optimist
daniela jumped another one hurdle.
