the reason for this forum being better is that "we care". On the official site you have some communication or other educated guys who get paid to do websites. Here, you have real fans of Daniela, maintaining a website and forum in their free-time, and paying for it. Caring can go a long way, even though we might not have the "real" background in doing what we do.

I don't think I would say yes if this site and forum were asked if we would go official. We should all of a sudden start thinking about copyrighted videos and pictures, and is it okay to ban members in an official site like we have done here? No, I like our little community, I like the familiarity among the most active posters.

I completely agree. I haven't been posting here for long, but i really love coming here when Daniela's playing. It's such a great hub for intelligent tennis based convo that's pro my favourite player... not only that, but the video posting is just fantastic -- love it. Wouldn't want anything to change or be compromised.

Did they mercifully put the "Official" website out of its misery. Tonight it goes straight to GoDaddy.com - a clearinghouse for website names.

Darn, they must have paid up, the "Official" site is back. Porn and all. I love THIS site. Thanks for keeping it real.

The 'Official' website will destroy Daniela reputation if it keeps on going like that.

I love this forum although I don't know much about tennis. :o :D

One thing for sure, I'm a huge supporter of Daniela Hantuchova.

Let keep this website clear from the psychopaths.

Don't go OFFICIAL. I love this website as it now. ;)

That's clear that the official website sucks a lot :( (no pictures, lack of information,...)
But luckily real fans are here :D

The official forum is such a joke... the amount of spam posts is incredible (including porn). More incredible still is that they seem to be there regularly  Danka should have some kind of blog, I think that would be interesting.

And that forum needs to be closed

These boards are gold for us daniela fans... Im really glad this site exists :P

adidas and Daniela begin new partnership at the US Open 2009-08-28 Herzogenaurach/New York, August 28th, 2009 - adidas is proud to announce the signing of Slovakian tennis star Daniela Hantuchova. The 26-year-old will wear the adilibria tennis apparel line from this year’s US Open onwards after signing with the 3-Stripes.

Daniela Hantuchova, a former top five player and two-time winner of Indian Wells, will start working with the adidas Player Development Program team consisting of coaches Sven Groeneveld and Darren Cahill and physical trainer Gil Reyes over the coming weeks and months as she enters a new phase in her career. The Program which was created in 2006 in the spirit of the adidas founder Adi Dassler, offers a unique mix of advice and support, from coaching and fitness training through to hitting-partners, nutritional advice and career management plans.

Daniela Hantuchova says, “I am very excited about representing the adidas brand. Throughout my career I have always respected adidas’ values as well as its dedication to quality and performance. Clearly, as an elite athlete, it is essential to be supported with first-class product. In pushing our physical ability, the innovative and progressive approach that has put adidas in pole position, helps us perform at our highest capacity. One of the aspects of the adidas approach that is so attractive moving into the next stage of my career is the adidas Player Development Program. Knowing that I can seek guidance from the best in the world as part of the adidas team makes for an invaluable partnership.”

Head of adidas Global Sports Marketing Individual and Olympic Sports, Jim Latham, warmly welcomed Daniela Hantuchova into the adidas tennis family explaining, “Daniela's tennis has always been a unique blend of determination, professionalism and style. We are pleased that she has decided to begin the next phase of her career with adidas at the US Open and look forward to finding innovative ways to combine the best of the tennis and fashion worlds."

For the US Open, Daniela Hantuchova will wear the FW10 adilibria apparel range featuring the stylish lilac purple layered tank top accompanied by a cobalt skort with a low waist and mesh overlayer to create a feminine silhouette. The adilibria tennis apparel range features ClimaCool® technology to ensure sweat quickly evaporates from the skin keeping the body at its maximum performance temperature.

I think it is more to get the adidas coaches than anything else. Hope it pays off in form of good results, because I soooo prefer Nike to Adidas, but if the developing program is good for her, then I'll accept.

I'm confused. Does this mean she's stopped working with Larri Passos and Pat Etcheberry? :dunno:

I'm not really pleased by that change. I also prefer NIKE.
Just hope Adidas starts a new fashion line for Daniela, because the outfits of the past, e.g. for Ana Ivanovic, are just horrible IMO.
Nike suited so great :(

I can see the attraction of adidas for Daniela because she can use the adidas coaches and she'd probably get some input into the design of her dresses. I'd imagine it would be the better deal financially as well. Adidas would be prepared to do more for her and offer her a better deal than Nike.

Nike tend to put most of their resources into the megastars like Federer, Nadal and Shazza but not an awful lot for their other players. Adidas seem like they do more for their players with things like the coaches and player development. Daniela said in one of the Auckland podcasts that she wears whatever Nike tell her to while if adidas give her a say in what she wears and the design then that would appeal to Daniela, especially as she's interested in fashion and design.
It's also possible that Nike want to have as much spare cash as possible to try sign Murray when his deal with Fred Perry runs out because they wanted to sign Roddick and re-sign Hewitt but didn't have the money because they'd committed too much to signing Serena, amoung other factors.

Maursemo and Ivanovic both won slams and got to no.1 after leaving Nike.

I can see the attraction of adidas for Daniela because she can use the adidas coachesI'm not sure about this. It could be a case of too many cooks spoiling the broth-it's hard for example to see Darren Cahill wanting Daniela to play the same way as Larri Passos( even though I would be sympathetic to the more aggressive style that Cahill pioneers).

It would be interesting to know whether Daniela just let her Nike contract expire or if Adidas actively "poached" her. I seem to remember her doing some media work for Nike earlier in the year,so they hadn't really forgotten about her.

Daniela's already had a training session with Cahill, so the adidas coaches are a resource that she wants to use.

One benefit is that other adidas players can't use any adidas coaches for on-court coaching when they're playing Daniela, but Daniela can still use Passos.

And if Darren and Larri give conflicting advice what happens then? There's a world of difference between the traditional clay-court approach of Passos and what Cahill will advise.

Some coaches might not enjoy their role being usurped.
