So after the Dubai loss, Daniela's projected ranking will be 36.

She only has 320 points to defend for both IW and Miami, and will only gain points from then on, correct?

yup, 230 points in Indian Wells and 90 points in Miami. Then she has Wimbledon 2nd round, and the next one counting towards her ranking (as of right now) is New Haven QF: 140 points.

She will climb to 36th this week (except if Razzano wins Dubai , then she'll be 37) but only 119 points behind nr30 (Wozniaki) and 327 behind nr25 (Sugiyama) , so things didn't went very badly for Daniela in Dubai .

Oh that's not too bad. After Miami, New Haven is a long while away, so Daniela can really start building her points again, provided she starts going deeper into tournaments.

At least Daniela's ranking did improve a little, I hope she keeps it up. There's not much recognition for players ranked outside of the top 20.

danka will be 35 on monday.if indian wells uses as of rank on 2 march will be 32 seed(since sisters and srebotnik arent playing)
if uses 9 march rank,we have to wait what dulko(36 points behind) and kirilenko(55 points behind) do in monterey next week

I also think they will use the ranking of March 2nd. So she will be seeded, good for her since she has a chance to defend at least some points.

they will use next week's ranking I am sure. I totally forgot Srebotnik is still injured. I was cursing at the 35 rank because I thought only the sisters wouldn't be playing, which meant she would be entry number 33 and just miss seeding.
So
R128: bye
R64: lower ranked player
R32: a top 1-8 player

So at least two rounds should be possible. 3rd round will be difficult, but with some luck in the draw everything is possible.

Anyway we are talking about IW ;)

Chances are that Shazza could miss one or both of Indian Wells and Miami and it's likely that someone else will withdraw so Daniela should get seeded for Indian Wells. How she does depends on the draw because if she got Dementieva or Zvonareva in the third round then it would be tough for Daniela given her record against them, but I think she'd have a good chance against any of the other top seeds, especially with the Indian Wells factor to inspire her.
A good run and performances in Indian Wells would do wonders for Daniela's confidence and if she can maintain her ranking in the 30s, she'll be in a great position to go up the rankings in forthcoming months.

It would be nice if she was seeded for Miami, so she could get the bye and she'd just need to win a match to defend her points and after that she's only got Wimbledon second round points to defend until New Haven.


Daniela Hantuchova is right about everything.

I totally forgot about Srebotnik. At least Daniela will be seeded for IW now, but like Christina said, that means a 1-8 seed in the third round. In all likelihood though, if Miami uses the rankings as at the start of IW, it is unlikely Daniela will be seeded for Miami, but at least she only has 3R points to defend there.

Yeah , Miami will use the ranks of March 9th .
With a little luck Daniela can be seeded , depends on Monterrey results (Dulko and so on)
If Dulko don't pass her in ranks , we need 3 players out so Daniela can be seeded !
