The Los Angeles Times reported today that Daniela has already committed to the Los Angeles tournament once again. It's shaping up to be a loaded field for a tier two with Jankovic, Kuznetsova, both Williams sisters and Vaidisova already in. Ivanovic, as defending champion, and Sharapova, her home town, will almost certainly enter as well.
I safely presume Daniela will once again play Stanford (also tier two) the week before which should be a much more hospitable field. I wonder if she would play Montreal the week after LA or head straight for the Olympics?

Q: How does healing of the injured foot continue?
DH: Slowly, very slowly. A couple of days ago I had a medical control and they made new tests. I will know more after seeing the outcomes. I have been visiting doctor Roman Fano (Slovakia Davis and Fed Cup teams doctor), but also went to doctor in Italy.

Q: Do you still have a splint on your foot?
DH: They have already taken it down. I can walk normally but already after 10 minutes I feel pain. It's terrible.

Q: Doctor Fano prescribed you absolute rest. Do you follow doctors' advices?
DH: This time nothing else is an option. I have no other choice.

Q: Do you miss tennis?
DH: A lot! I can't wait to return on courts. I have never been without tennis for such a long time until now. Why, I haven't hold racket in my hand for almost one month. Because of this pause I realized again how much I love tennis. On the other hand I was given an opportunity to live a normal life for a while.

Q: What do you do in your free time?
DH: I put my mind on myself, people close to me and things I normally don't have enough time for. However, I am not forgetting my preparation and spend some time at the gym as well.

Q: Do you follow course of events on tennis courts out there?
DH: I do, but not the results. I am more interested in how my opponents are playing.

Q: What about your comeback on tennis courts? Will you return in time for Roland Garros?
DH: I have no idea really. It's premature to talk about it. Truth is that even if I took a racket right tomorrow and went on courts, it would be too soon and my preparation wouldn't be sufficient.


Doctor Roman Fano, who made control tests of Daniela's heel, said this: "It's bad, it doesn't look good. The outcomes of the tests are already available and now I am gonna consult them with Daniela. As for RG, from objective point of view Daniela's participation there is not very realistic. But the ultimate decision is hers.
