Last year Daniela was number two seed and she had pretty much the same ranking as this year, but assuming everyone turns up this year, she won't be seeded this time. There are a lot of good players in the field but if Daniela's fit and focused she can do well so we'll just see how she does. A repeat of 2007 would be fantastic. |

1r qualifier 2r qualifier/pervak QF Kvitova(1) SF Jankovic(3) or Goerges(6) Although Kvitova looms in QF it's a sweet draw. Kvitova hasn't been playing well at all since Wimbledon, so a SF is definite possibility. |

Daniela getting seeded is a nice bonus and she's got a good draw. There are decent players in qualifying so the first round opponent can't be overlooked but you'd really have to favour Daniela as long as she plays well. Pervak had a good run at Wimbledon beating Peer and Petkovic and she got to the final in Baku and won Tashkent but the only decent player she beat there was Voskoboeva. As long as Daniela's fit and focused she should get to the quarter-final and Kvitova's post Wimbledon form hasn't been great although she also had a slump between Paris indoors and Madrid. Daniela has a good chance of doing well here but she has to be focused on her first match. |

Can't complain about the draw. Kvitova is a horrid match up for Daniela,especially indoors but lately she can't seem to keep the ball in the court. Fingers crossed! |

common Danka, a good run here is much needed!  This tournament is quite well televised (ES, and free Austrian channel TW1 on Astra 19°E), so a good chance to see her on TV! |

She could have finished it off in 2 sets... but nevermind. Good match. Daniela played well and her strokes seemed to be more powerful than usual, don't know if it is bacause of the surface or she really did play better. |

Ho-Hum. Another day, another 2:40 match for Daniela. This matchup scared me, and she rose Pepto-Bismol stock again, but all of us will take a win. It has long since been the case that the theme song for Daniela and all of us is Ringo Starr's "It Don't Come Easy." Yet the wacky thing is that, for the countless thousands of times we eliminated our fingernails or checked into ER with heart murmurs, Dani's 4 wins have all been in straight sets! Maybe this is nuts, but I want her to get to the quarters and get another shot at Petra. At the moment she led 3-0 in Birmingham and was toying with the eventual Wimbledon winner, Daniela's level was Top 5 material. Then came the abdominal injury. Good Lord willing, she'll get a chance to right a wrong here. Let's Go, Daniela! |

Woeful start,and then played really well to win the first set-best I've seen since the grass court season. Just got a little sloppy in the second set,but superior fitness told in the third. There were enough good things happening today to make me think she could have a really good tournament.

well I saw tha first set and she's looks better than the past weeks..she's showing some good plays...I dont know what happend in the 1nd set but 3rd set was the best.. GL in R2.. I want her to meet Petra .. go Dani! |
