Daniela has been having so many injures recently - they keep piling up...I hope in a way that if she goes deep in the doubles she withdraws from Quebec. That's right-Daniela has got to be more realistic about her scheduling. Her 2010 schedule was heavy enough,yet this year she has added Pattaya,Doha,Strasbourg,Birmingham and now Quebec,whilst only dropping Monterrey. It's no wonder her heel has become inflamed. |

Mixed doubles is on, Daniela and her 2004 partner against a couple of obscure Americans. Normally I check opponent's bios to see how they've done recently, I checked Fusano and Martin's bios to find out who they are. 1-0, hold to 30. 1-1. 2-1, hold to 15. 2-2, Fusano & Martin hold to deuce. 3-2, hold to 30. 4-2, Daniela and Knowles break to 40. 5-2, hold to 40. 6-2, break to 40. Murray just beat Haase in a really good match. A long break so I'll just say it's a long break and play will start again. Of course, when you do something with the express purpose of it having the opposite effect, it doesn't happen. There has to be a toilet break or an injury timeout. 1-0, Daniela & Knowles hold, score just flashed up. Either this is the longest rally ever, the scoreboards frozen or there's a stoppage. 1-1, scoreboard's screwy, it went from 0-15, 1-1 to 30-40, 1-1. 1-2, broken to 30, I think. 2-2. 2-3, broken from 40-15. 2-4. 2-5, broken to 40 after saving 3BPs. 3-5, break to 30. 4-5, hold to 15. 5-5, break to 15. 6-5, hold to 15. Another long delay. 7-5, scoreboard went to 30-0 Daniela & Knowles then 7-5, Hurray! |

Doubles has started but don't entertain any crazy notions about actually being able to watch it as "Court 13 will not be broadcasting for the rest of the tournament" according to the official website. What the fuck is the point of televising a court and then taking the cameras away? - original source of the youtube interview. The text is the same interview from a couple of days ago as most of Daniela's Slovak interviews are to SITA, the Slovak press agency, or conference calls which are shared across the Slovak media. I'm sure this is exclusive to Pravda and it was posted to youtube on 2nd September and the article's from 3rd September, so I'm pretty sure it's from Thursday or Friday. Daniela talks about more than the US Open and I think she says San Diego was okay and Cincinnati was good mentioning Pennetta and Bartoli, she gets asked about New Haven and talks about the Olympics, but that's about all I could make out. |
