I missed the match and judging from the score, I think following it live wouldn't have been too good for my stress levels. Daniela had usually beaten Zheng fairly easily in the past but this was a real battle and it seems that Zheng was inspired in the in the last two sets or Daniela had a lapse. Daniela's 1st serve percentage (69%) and the points she won on her first serve (73%) in the third set was very good and she won the clutch points saving 3/4 BPs she faced and winning both the BPs she had against Zheng. I think it helped Daniela that she'd always beaten Zheng as she'd have the confidence that she'd be able to come back and win again while Zheng would have the nerves and doubt about whether she could beat Daniela. Daniela was able to step it up and came through really strong at the end winning the last four games. Agnieszka had a good win against McHale so that'll be a tough match and a repeat of last years semi-final. Thanks for the live score, Patti. |
