Daniela should be able to beat Zahlavova Strycova easily enough although Zahlavova Strycova did beat Daniela at Wimbledon last year. Then Daniela had to play a match the day before whereas this time Zahlavova Strycova's had a long tough match the day before and Daniela's rested. Plus Daniela's been in very good form recently while Zahlavova Strycova hasn't done much since Wimbledon last year. She did beat Kvitova in Indian Wells but the only other good players Zahlavova Strycova's beaten this year's been Petrova in Sydney and Pennetta in Bastad. The rest of the time good players have beaten her fairly easily.

It would have been nice for Daniela to have played doubles and gotten a bit of match practice on the court but she'll have been training and the last time she played doubles with Kirilenko in Charleston, they had a long tough match that probably tired Daniela out before her singles the next day. Singles is most important and the important thing is that Daniela's ready for that.

I don't think this tournament is televised before the quarter-finals. Toronto should be televised all the way through although it'll probably only be the centre court and Cincinnati should be televised as that's a joint event and ATP Masters are televised from the start.

4-1. Daniela holds to 15.
5-1. Daniela breaks again.
6-1. Daniela serves it out to 15, served an ace in the game.

2nd set.
0-1. Zahlavova Ztrycova holds to 0.
0-2. Daniela broken to 30, saved 2 BPs from 0-40. Only got 2/6 1st serves in that game.
0-3. Zahlavova Strycova holds to 30. Don't know what's going on this set because Daniela absolutely dominated the first set.
1-3. Daniela holds to 0 and wins he game with an ace, that's more like it.
2-3. Daniela breaks to 0.
3-3.
4-3. Daniela breaks on her 3rd BP.
5-3. Daniela holds to 0.
6-3. Daniela breaks to 15 for the match. Revenge :wav: :wav:

Awesome win for daniela! Got a bit worried when she was 0-3 down in 2nd set. But what a great come back! Sweet revenge from Wimbledon last year.

Really good win by Daniela who dominated the match. I don't know what happened at the start of the second set but it seemed like Zahlavova Strycova caught fire and Daniela maybe had a wee bit of a letdown, but Daniela regrouped well and dominated the rest of the set. A crucial game was the seventh game of the set when Strycova saved 2 BPs to get it back to deuce but Daniela won the next 2 points to go ahead in the set and she raced through the rest of the match.

It's a very good win and the sort of win that Daniela should have against players like Zahlavova Strycova and she keeps her form and momentum. Maybe Daniela could have had a higher 1st serve percentage - only 55% - but she defended her second serve well winning 61% and won 88% of her first serve. Overall a very nice win and performance.

The stats are pretty good for Daniela. Great match to start a tournament. Zheng is the best thing that can happen !!

Well, we all know that Daniela change her game style during 2nd set. She always do that. At least, on the first games, she always try to serve on the wide corner and she rarely put impressive serves there. So, no damage at all today!
