Another close loss this year..real shame...but good fight, needs to stay strong when break up in 3rd set..

I woke up and read the tweets on this match from @fortydeucetwits and I got all excited reading the tweets about 'Dani' (as they put it) winning X amount of games in a row, up a break in the decider...and then all of a sudden a tweet saying Shazza was serving for it. He/she summarised the match by saying 'Dani pulls an AO08 SF', which is a real shame. Would have been so much different if Daniela could have held on to a seeding, but should a, would a, could a doesnt really get you anywhere.

Well I didn't win but it was a good fight tonight. I think the 2-0 game in the third set was crucial... we played an unbelievable rally and that's where it changed a little bit. I had my chances but unfortunately facing someone like Maria in the second round is never easy. Thank you guys for all your support as always... talk to you very soon!

This is really disappointing as Daniela was playing so well winning seven games in a row at one point and being up a break in the third but Shazza kept going and got the break and switched the momentum and she went on a run of games. This is a frustrating loss but Daniela can take positives from this as she's maintained her form from grass to hardcourts, she knows that she can be competitive with anyone and beat pretty much anyone. It would still have been great for her to have won and that would have done so much for her confidence and ranking points and really given her a big boost for the hardcourt season. She's at Carlsbad next and she's got semi-final points to defend from last year so it's important she has a good run there. I don't know why San Diego became Carlsbad considering that it's at the exact same place.

The last four matches Daniela's lost have been to the Wimbledon semi-finalists.

Daniela Hantuchova is right about everything.

Is Marina Erakovic going to win this as she beat Azarenka and whoever beats Azarenka always seems to win the tournament, well, since Indian Wells at least?

Wow that is weird, literally every tournament since IW, incredible. Well the spell is broken as Erakovic lost to Cibulkova..

Bartoli only had to play 3 sets to make it to the final, where she lost to Williams in 2.

Still, $60000 for 5 sets is an acceptable hourly wage.
