Unfortunately Daniela will face seeds 1-8 in the 3rd round should she and the seeds get there. Those top 8 players are going to be very tough to beat. Hoping she draws either Schiavone or Li in 3r.

Obviosuly 1st and 2nd round opponents are what to look for first.

Have you seen Wozniacki play on the red clay this season? To say she has been unimpressive would be a huge understatement.

Provided that they will both reach 3rd round, it's a bad draw i'm afraid. Caro has this kind of game that gives trouble to Daniela. I mean, she is always returning balls to her opponent and i think this will cause many errors to Daniela. H2H is 0-3 and Dani hasn't won a single set.
We'll see...

On the other hand,Caroline cannot hit through a clay court like she can on hard. Also she can be troubled by high top spin to her backhand side-and her serve is very vulnerable on this surface(see the matches with Goerges).

Daniela absolutely thrashed Zhang in the Fed Cup last year and Zhang's mostly played on the ITF level and hasn't done much on clay. As long as Daniela plays well, she should win this.

I feel the second round is quite tough. McHale beat Daniela in Charleston and she's had some good recent results, she beat Peng in Rome as well as Kuznetsova in Indian Wells and Kleybanova in Charleston. Daniela crushed Errani in the Pattaya final but Errani's beaten Daniela in the past, she's had some reasonable results this year and she's a decent clay courter.

Wozniacki will be a difficult opponent. World number one with one win, the Brussels final, another final, and a semi-final on clay this year. When Wozniacki's lost though, she's been outgunned and Goerges and Shazza dictated the rallies against her and she's generally had to grind out a lot of her matches. The match in Miami will have given Daniela a lot of confidence and the knowledge that she can compete with Wozniacki. Daniela will have to win a couple of matches first before she plays Wozniacki and she has to focus on getting through them first.

no Daniela tomorrow.

All in all a very lame start of RG, no Roger, Rafa, Nole, Shazza or any other "big name"... :(
Next week I have university again, while tomorrow is a free sunday. arggh

"It is true that when it defeated Daniela 6:0, 6:1, but I see it, so that rival it for a period of more than a year has made great strides, got some scalps, it certainly will not be easy. It's not exactly a big name yet but it is a promising toy. The advantage is that Daniela has played against it and we know roughly what to expect. We are well prepared," said Liptak, from Strasbourg, where his zverenkyňa resumes on Friday in the semifinals of the WTA tournament local Nemko Andrea Petkovicovou .

"Domča against the King's always difficult matches. It's the type of players, that's - unfortunately - does not fit. But they also think that Dominica is now gambling on a higher level. I firmly believe that despite the negative balance of mutual handle. Magdini can not match up enough estimate. Kuznetsova, while the favorite, but now has some brilliant results, it does not seem to be cool and form. In my view, therefore, Magda has a chance," said Matthew Liptak.

Definitely not the best draw, especially when Daniela's got some points to defend. One match at a time, as always...
