I have noticed that for a couple of times recently during her matches she was swearing in Slovak

But who wouldn't?

It all was during wasted important points.

64 62 Not a great match, i only saw 2nd set. Daniela did enough to win but i think she played well below her best..next up petrova. Going to be tough but daniela should try and tire out petrova as much as possible.

It's often said that the sign of a good player is to keep winning when not at your best.

Petrova is a fine clay-court player and has the edge on Daniela in the head-to-head. It will be a good test of where her game is at the moment.

Daniela got the job done although she didn't play particularly well. She won in straight sets and she's got the opportunity to make adjustments for the next match here.

Petrova's not had that great a year. Most of the players that have beaten have been good players or players in form but the highest ranked player she's beaten has been Vinci in Dubai. Petrova's got a winning record against Daniela but Daniela beat Petrova in Strasbourg in 2000 and won their last match in Miami although she'll need to play better than she did today.

Didn't realise but Daniela has played in Strasbourg before. She lost in the final round of qualifying in 2001, but gained entry into the main draw as a lucky loser, and she actually went on to beat PETROVA in straight-sets in the second round, before losing in the quarters.
