Hmm...daniela will have tough 3rd round player whatever happens. But a one win is more points so 2nd round match is very important to win. Hopefully it won't be too windy this year as last year against vinci the conditions was horrendous.

Daniela, even at her peak was an example of inconsistency, so I'll be hesitant about this tournament.

One thing is for sure, she is playing really good tennis for the first time since coming back from injury. I'm more positive about her year than ever.

Let's see how it develops. She seems to have gotten her tennis in check. I really hope being in her favorite tourney makes her even more eager to produce magic.

Good Luck Danka :)

Daniela averages about 168 km/h on 1st serve now which is a major improvement since her 155 km/h days. Similar with the 2nd serve where she is above 130 km/h. Was about time to improve this given her height.

Yes, her serve needed to be better, her height is an advantage for this.

What is she doing differently now?

When did she average 155 km/h? Must have missed those days.

In response to Helio's question, she seems to have dropped the abbreviated service motion and gone back to a fuller, smoother swing of the racket. Then again,it may just be that her shoulder is healthy again.

When will be the draw published?

Daniela should be coming into this tournament rested and healthier than last year. She played with a back injury a year ago and for a lot of last year she was hampered by back and shoulder injuries plus tough draws. When Daniela finally got healthy, she started to play at a really high level again. Whenever she's been fit this year she's played great tennis. Daniela will have confidence and momentum going into Indian Wells.
Hopefully, she can get a decent draw and she can go on a good run. Daniela will probably have a top tenner in the third round, but she played very well against Zvonareva and Azarenka this year plus a lot of the top tenners aren't in great form at the moment so they won't be looking forward to playing Daniela.

The draw is out. After a bye, Daniela will play the winner of Dinara Safina and Aranxta Parra-Santonja. Likely third round opponent would be Stosur; fourth round would likely be Sharapova.

pretty nice i think :) away from all great players in great form (clijsters, kvitova, jankovic, wozniacki.....), she can possibly beat sam i hope and i will be satisfied with that result....another win will be bonus :)
