Nice win!! :D

Daniela seemed to struggle a little bit on serve, but managed to save a whole heap of break points, which was great! And she won 100% of all her break point chances. All in all, she played the big points well!

Tough 2R opponent, regardless of who gets through. Most likely Sharapova. If she can create opportunities and capitalise on them, like how she did in this match, then she will definitely have a chance to win the match. In any event, this match will most likely be streamed regardless of who her opponent is

Wohoo. It seems she played quite well.

I would like to see Daniela vs Masha match so bad, but I wont be able to because of school. The match will be most likely in the morning :/

This is a good win. Daniela got the job done in straight sets, she won the important points late points in both sets and she kept hold of her momentum to close out the match and won it on her first match point.

Thanks for the livescore, pmrd.

Daniela Hantuchova is right about everything.

Daniela dropped again her level on 2nd set because she is playing her B game. It's a bit strange that on one on her current team don't see her stats after her matches... Despite the win, her B game isn't the best possible, as she usualy drop her % of 1st serves and winning around 50% of them....

They/She must do something about it.... It's been really long time that there is no progress on her tennis and game style...
She must find her on-court self again....

Next Opponent: Kimiko Date-Krumm

Kimiko outplayed Sharapova. Was really fun to watch. She was just getting everything back and creating some wicked angles.

Kinda scared now for Daniela.

If Kimiko plays anywhere near how she played today, then Daniela will have to be patient and not go for crazy winners, i.e. cut down on the unforced errors. Given how close their match was in Seoul last year, Daniela certainly has chances, but she will need to overcome a resilient player who has home crowd support.

Really like Kimiko and wished she wasn't in Daniela's section!

Too bad I wont be able to watch the match :/

Daniela has chances, its not unreal... But Im afraid of those UE she will make when Date Krum retrieves everything.

Good luck Daniela!

With sharapova out this is a huge chance for daniela to go far in this draw and get back in top 25. I think it's date krumm 40th birthday tomo when she plays daniela so let's hope daniela doesn't give her a 3rd round birthday present. Daniela's section is now definitely wide open. Just really hope daniela can get a 3rd round here at least.

One slight positive is that daniela's 1st round match was relatively short and she's had a day's rest whereas date krumm's 1st rounder was a long 3 setter without days rest. But daniela mustn't presume that date krumm will get tired which is what happened in Seoul quarter final last year.
