She has GOT to do something about her serve-it seemed like she was struggling in every game during the match, and of course, she got broken to end the match.

I actually don't think Daniela played badly,(obviously i'm guessing) Ithink that the turnaround from San Diego was too much to ask when you come up against someone as good as Nastya. The 3-3 game when Daniela was serving was crucial but she got broke.

This loss hurts more than it should as it's the 4th time she's lost to Pavy and also all the hard work she gained from last week points wise has been taken away from her. Daniela down to at least no.28

We just have to pray for a perfect draw next week that she can take advantage of...

Next week is even more important as it's the last week before the USOpen that can affect the seeds. Would be great if she can sneak a top 24 seeding to avoid a williams sister in the 3rd round.

The stats don't lie-25% of second serve points won,18 BP's faced in a mere 10 service games, and all this on a fast hard-court. Her serve is a liability that must be addressed if she doesn't want to slip further down the rankings.

Daniela's first serve isn't such a liability, it actually quite good on most days. That second serve tough, is pure bush league. What is becoming worrying at this point is just how often she's broken when serving to stay in a set or a match. Today is another good example; she got broken at the end of both sets. Those nerves.....
She's gone down 4-1 in the head to head against a teenager....YIKES!!!! And I suppose this loss will send her ranking way back down again. Too bad, I hope she plays well next week and moves back up.

Shit.

I'm getting sick of the sight of Pavlyuchenkova, she seems to be kryptonite to Daniela.

Just looking at the stats, the big difference in the match in the match was second serve where Daniela was 7/28(25%) while Pavlyuchenkova was 10/21(48%). Pavlyuchenkova was slightly better on first serve but Daniela's BP conversion percentage was actually slightly higher but Pavlyuchenkova had a lot more BP chances. I don't suppose the travel from San Diego helped Daniela while Pavlyuchenkova would be more rested.

Daniela's got to get an easier draw in Montreal because in every one of the big Premier events since Rome she's had a top 30 opponent in the first round while in the equivalent tournaments last year her first round opponent was usually someone outside the top 30.

Daniela Hantuchova is right about everything.

Yeah I hope she plays at New Haven she might grab the 8th seed spot there, chance to go far possibly...

Pav def dementieva 61 63 so it shows what a great player pav is right now. Dani did well to get 7 games lol. If only dani had held a few more game points she could have ousted pavy.
