FFS did Lynn Walsh do the Cincinnati draw personally? Pavlyuchenkova followed by Dementieva is about as nightmarish as it gets.

Damn,damn,damn.

Bloody Hell!

It's just as well that Daniela's having a good run in San Diego because it's going to be difficult for her to defend her quarter-final points from last year. Daniela's had quite a few tough draws lately, she's had a top 30 opponent in the first round in 5 of the last 6 Premier events she's entered, she's got to get a reasonable draw sometime. The top half of the draw is a lot weaker than the bottom half, there are five qualifiers in a row in the top quarter.

Daniela had her chances against Pavlyuchenkova in Madrid and should have taken it to a third set and she beat Dementieva in Dubai, albeit on retirement, and Daniela will be feeling confident with her wins in San Diego. However, there's the possibility of a let down and with the travel Daniela won't have too much time to rest or acclimatise to the conditions in Cincinnati. The opponents don't help much either.

Daniela ended a losing streak to a Russian nemesis here last year, let's make it two years in a row. She's playing well so why not?

Well the draw is not the best haha, but right now all we want is Daniela to play well in San Diego and try and make the final...

I don't know what to expect on draws anymore... It's going worst and worst... I guess she will draw WC Davenport in US Open R1

Pavlyuchenkova :? She's 0-3 this year against her and I think it's time for a win... 4 losed to the same player would be way too rediculous by Danka. Most probably, another thriller match...
The draw is bad and she will be tried of San Diego ( if she plays the F) or disappointed by SF lost...

But still, she can remember her top game and impress us

but if she wants to win something bigger in her career she has to beat these players, that´s the reality. it doesn´t matter if they are from the first rounds. just good for Daniela. she is that type of player who has to be tested with these solid players.

good luck against Pavlu ;) and I think Daniela can beat Dementieva since she was playing just awful against Sharapova in Stanford.

c´mon Dani! ;)

Tough entry list and tougher draw.

But I think also Kuznetsova won't be happy about the draw, as well as Sharapova will be. :D

It's not the best draw but Daniela's definitely not without a chance. I don't think i could bare another first round loss... nor a loss to Pavlyuchenkova, so hopefully Daniela will be fit and ready to go. She doesn't have a massive turn around between this and her last tournament. Can't really complain about success though!

We really can't expect too much in Cincinatti. She's got a 5 hours flight today at least as Kleybanova on her twitter page just said her flight(s) took 12 hours as all the flights were booked up!!!

We have to hope that Daniela has a really good day and Pavylynchenkova doesn't. I think if she gets past her 1st round I think she can go a long way.

I hope Daniela can simply use Cincy as a good training ground if anything else...if she gets through some rounds then that's an added bonus. I hope she doesn't put too much pressure on herself, as she should be extremely proud of this week. She should use her 1st rounder as a practice match.

Daniela knows that Pavy is not a good match-up for her, but hopefully her match wins against Bartoli and Kleybanova will give her confidence.

I really think Daniela looks the fittest she's looked since Australian Open 2008, which I think bodes well. She's extremely toned everywhere, this time last year I remember her looking a bit frail so thank you Pat Etchberry.

Any news on Darren Cahill? I haven't seen him with Daniela at all recently...

Any news on Darren Cahill? I haven't seen him with Daniela at all recently...Working with ESPN up in Washington at the moment(he was commentating on the Nalby match last night). I wouldn't get your hopes up about him working with Daniela before the US Open, remember he is also contracted to work with Verdasco and Gonzo.

It's a shame really,I think there was a path to victory for Daniela last night-it seems she always won the rally when she concentrated on pummeling Radwanska with CC forehands, but she didn't do this enough. If I saw this,I'm pretty sure Darren would have as well. C'est la vie.
