Bah, lost 6-2 6-2. Didn't see the match and there aren't any stats available for doubles so it's difficult to really say what happened. Stubbs & Raymond are a very good doubles team.

Some surprises in the singles with Kvitova thrashing Wozniacki 6-2 6-0  although Kvitova played very well and was blasting winners all over the court and Pironkova beat Bartoli.

Oh well, on to Stanford I suppose.

Daniela Hantuchova is right about everything.

Not the best Wimbledon, hope Daniela will play on hard better.

On to Stanford, moving ever closer to oblivion....I hope she gets her act together, because she seems like such a nice person, and she deserves at least one more good run at a Slam. Whether it will happen is another story.

How was her relationship with daniela? I never knew they were friends. When Daniela was struggling in 2003,Jen went out of her way to help her-playing doubles with her in a couple of tournaments and going along to her singles matches to offer support. She went public in the media, basically telling them to back off because Daniela was having such a rough time.

Jennifer may have had some brattish moments on the court, but her heart was always in the right place.

oh wow, I did not know this. That is really nice to hear. I hope daniela is supportive of her in these times, at least privately.

Woho, world n. 82 has just beaten Venus W. :)

Now Venus know how it feels to lose to an underdog at her favourite slam :)

Good job Pironkova! Shes in SF :O

But Clijsters out, nooooooooooooooooo! :(

Clijsters wasnt playing her best. Pity. :(

Now for me, let the Serena win that slam... dont care any more. I wanted Clijsters to win it at least :(

Fantastic win for Pironkova and her second win against Venus at a Grand Slam.

I think a lot of Wozniacki and Azarenka fans were rooting for Kvitova and a lot of Stosur fans were rooting for Kanepi. I think that'll be a very tough loss for Kanepi - you don't get insights like that just anywhere.

There have been so many surprise winners recently. If you'd gone to a bookmaker and put an accumulator on Martinez Sanchez winning Rome, Rezai winning Madrid, Schiavone winning Roland Garros, Makarova winning Eastbourne and Pironkova and Kvitova being Wimbledon semi-finalists then there'd be an inquiry into suspicious betting patterns at the very least.

I hope that Jennifer Capriati recovers and gets over her problems.

Daniela Hantuchova is right about everything.

Agreed. Once Daniela is out of the tournament I don't normally bother with the women's side in this event because you can guarantee that at least a Williams sister will be in the final. It was nice to hear about Pironkova beating Venus, but I didn't even consider watching the final, cause knew this would happen. Yawn indeed!

Hey Finny, yeah she had some problems with her back...but i think she's ok, she's probably had a well-earned break and is now ready to go!

Her tournaments schedule committment is quite full so that would indicate she's feeling healthy, fingers crossed.

Serena Williams got injured!

I dont want anything bad for Serena.... but its good that other players will have more chances during US open series. So Danka can have better luck maybe, not to get Williams in her way again :)
