If Daniela can reproduce RG form then she's a chance. She's gunna get a lot more reward for her shot making on this surface. Hopefully she'll notch up a few wins to give her some confidence going into Wimbledon where she's got some points to defend.

It's going to be tough not being seeded...

I don't hate her chances against the majority of the seeds though. Except for Kim. I can't see her beating Kim.

I'm not so sure about her chances against the seeded players. Wozniacki is defending champion and would be tough, as would Dementieva and Stosur, and obviously Clijsters. Also, there's going to be a few unseeded players who have been in the top-ten this year, including Azarenka and Kuznetsova. And then there's the Italians, Petrova and Zvonareva. To be honest I think even if she plays as she did during the Spring it's going to be tough to get a win. I would be happy with just one win, and then a good second-round performance even if it ends in a loss.

I don't see her going deep into this tournament considering her form against the other top seeds. Moreover, she is not seeded here so I would be happy with just one win.

I would recommend Daniela consider enter smaller tournament at times so that she can have some wins and build up her confidence rather than trying to enter big ones and get first-round or second-round exits all the time. That doesn't make sense at all Dani. You can see that her ranking can never go up with this tactic. Play big tournaments when you are ready.

I think she was right entering Eastbourne, there are lots of points on offer. If she had entered the netherlands tournament she would have to have reached the semis to get more points, here she will need quarters. I think it's a really open field, if Daniela serves well she can definitely have a good run. I just hope she avoids Clijsters.

sometime tennis seems like lottery.
Shell get more points if she gets a good draw in Eastbourne with a few wins. If she gets a bad draw, playing Rosmalen would have been better.

Let's see what the dices will say.

Eastbourne 2010 :

1R : Daniela vs Anne Keothavong (GBR, WC)
2R : Daniela vs Melanie Oudin (USA) or Samantha Stosur (AUS,3)

Big challenge for Daniela against Sam !

Do NOT underestimate Anne Keatovong, she's a good grasscourt player(she reached the 3rd round at Wimbledon once), and she played in Birmingham, so she's used to the grass already. Daniela is not going to get far in this tournament, but that's something she brings on herself, by insisting on entering Premier-level events instead of smaller tournaments. I'll say it again, if the small tournaments are good enough for Sharapova, they are good enough for Daniela.

While i agree that entering a smaller tournament would have been better for Daniela's preparation particularly just before Wimbledon, the draw hasn't turned out too badly. I'd fancy Daniela in round 1 and Stosur's backhand will be a lot easier to attack on grass.

I think it's a pretty nice choise to play in Eastbourne. She have to play more matches against Top players. It's better to lose from a Top 10 player than a Top 50. The draw is the best that she can ask and expect much more from her this year on grass. Her current form is good and she must go further now.

Koethavong is pertty nice 1st round match on grass. I would like to see some fight here and a 3 setter match. Stosur - Oudin is also a nice match to have in belt before Wimbledon. There is a chance for some nice matches before Wimbledon.
Eastbourne was always a preparation tournament for Wimbledon. Everybody test their selves here.

Would be great to get through to the quarters here....daniela should get past anne easy enough despite the home advantage forf keothavong. Against stosur if daniela serves and especially returns well she could definitely caused the upset. Lots of juicy points on offer here....
