If Daniela plays like she did in Miami and she's fully fit, then she's got a good chance of going on a run here, especially if she gets a decent draw. Daniela can beat most of the players here and she'll have a lot of confidence after her performance in Miami. At the same time, it's a different tournament on a different surface and she could have an off-day or meet an inspired opponent and we'll see how her back is. If she keeps up her Miami form, Daniela should be fine. |

They seed 16 players here, which should help avoid any really dangerous first or second round opponents. |

They seed 16 players here, which should help avoid any really dangerous first or second round opponents. I'm not sure how much of a positive this is. The combination of the windy conditions (playing against a player who had already won one match in them) and Daniela's bad back saw her downfall at IW. This is a new tournament, new surface. I'm not worried about Daniela getting through her earlier rounds considering how well she played in her last match. Not to mention her positive attitude! She feels like she didn't bring her best tennis against Venus... but it might be an initial hurdle. |

It will be quiet cool if Serena and Maria (or Victoria) withdraw, giving Daniela a 1st round BYE. Let's see. Only Top 8 seedes have bye. It will be nice to see her reaching a 3rd r or better here. Daniela's clay season: Charleston, Stuttgart, Rome, Madrid, RG. All the best in Charleston. |

After her run at Miami, Daniela's confidence is bound to be pretty high and green clay events are always tough to call because although they are clay events the surface itself plays a lot closer to a hard court than a red clay event, so a tournament like this is acting like a transition event as we head into the proper clay court swing. The entry list looks pretty formidable but there is no one on there that Daniela should particularly fear and if the top 16 are seeded and not just the top 8, which has been mentioned on here already, then that should work in Daniela's favour and hopefully she can get another decent run together here. Like I said, these types of events are always hard to call and Daniela's recent record on clay, with the exception of one or two tournaments over the years, hasnt been great, but on green clay I fancy Daniela's chances that little bit more. So long as Daniela picks up some points before Roland Garros then I don't mind her missing Warsaw. However, 200 points is a lot to lose(although she'll lose 130points as 70 points is her next 17th best tournament) so here's hoping that she can deliver before RG. We definitely would like a top 24 seeding for RG. |

Daniela is now no.9 seed for charleston, sharapova has withdrawn (and defending champion lisicki for that matter) I'm not sure if A.Radwanska has asked for wildcard but if rad doesn't and Serena withdraws then Daniela will get 1st round bye. |
