Every round will be tough. I'm a bit worried. I think the most we can expect is 4th round unless some upsets happen. 1st bye 2nd vinci/oudin 3rd wickmayer(13) or safarova 4th azarenka(3) or martinez(26) Quarters zvonarova or ivanovic Semis kuzy or clijsters or pavly Final henin or dementieva or sharapova |

I kind of like the draw; Wickmayer is far and away the most overseeded player in the draw with her ranking artificially inflated because of her gift-wrapped run to the US Open SF last year. I'd clearly favor Daniela in a head-to-head matchup and there's no one else in the 9-16 group who I'd say that about. |

If wickmayer is playing the same as in AO, then she will be tough (if they both get there)... Hope daniela can play well since day 1... |

The draw's tough, but it's not that bad. It could have been worse, and she could have drawn Henin or Sharapova. I preferably would have wanted her to have drawn Schiavone (in the seeds 9-16) instead of Wickmayer. I know Daniela has the 3-0 head to head against Wickmayer, but Wickmayer is another one of those players that serves big and hits everything hard. She's a Pavyluchenkova, but fitter and faster. In any event, Daniela has to get through her first match, which is tricky but certainly doable. Hoping for a more patient, but still aggressive Daniela! |

To be honest, after what she did in the final, first match here is also a tough task. Should she overcome her first match and get to meet Wickmayer, I would prefer Wickmayer. Wickmayer has improved a lot lately and has been playing far more consistent than Daniela. Some people still think she is overrated but if you see her match, you will think different. She just need some more experience. This year Indian Wells may turn out to be a disaster for Daniela if she doesn't do anything special. Daniela, please learn from your mistakes and improve if you love to do well here. |

Well, in my opinion that is a pretty tough draw, but Daniela needs to win her 2nd round match first before we can think about Wickmayer and co. She always loves playing here so I don't see any reason why she can't progress to the 3rd round whether her confidence is down after Sunday or not. Scott |

It's not the best draw. I'd expect Daniela to be able to beat Vinci easily enough, but Oudin's the more likely second round opponent and she'd be tough as she had a good run at the US Open and took a set from Daniela in their matches last year. However, Oudin hasn't done that much since the US Open although her form's picked up in the past month. I'd favour Daniela but it'll be a tough match. Daniela's got a 3-0 record against Wickmayer although Wickmayer's a much better player now and her power baseliner style is a difficult match-up for Daniela so I'm expecting a really tough match there. I'm taking this one match at a time but it's Indian Wells and Daniela always finds that bit extra here. |

Daniela's first Indian Wells Blog March 09, 2010 Hello again everyone and welcome to my blog from Indian Wells It's so nice to be here in this special place... it brings back so many great memories. The trip here was good, although we had to wake up really early yesterday to get to the airport! I had a really nice time in Monterrey. They treated me so well and I was playing very well throughout the whole tournament. I even felt good in the final, but Anastasia was playing unbelievable tennis. I couldn't ask for better preparation for this tournament, however - and that's the great thing about tennis, is that every tournament you start from zero. It's a new challenge. Today was a recovery day after so many matches and the day of travelling, although I was pretty busy I practiced in the morning on Center Court, where I've had some really great memories. Then I went to the gym, and then another practice in the afternoon... I also did a photo shoot for the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour's Looking For A Hero campaign, which was fun and interesting! No time for golf today... but hopefully I'll play in the next few days. It's actually pretty cold here, and windy too, so I'm waiting for the perfect afternoon... I hope you'll enjoy my blog, I look forward to writing it! Oh and if you have time please check out my website, Facebook and Twitter pages! Have a good night and talk to you again tomorrow Dani Source: Daniela od Facebook: |
