yeah, so many top players! But hope Daniela can beat most of them and rise her confidence :)

Also hope she will not play Serena at first rounds... it would be really terrible :/

Hopefully Daniela will get a decent draw and she can go on a run. There are an awful lot of quality players entered but Daniela can beat most of them. A good run here and some good wins would do a lot for her confidence, boost her ranking and give her momentum for the season.

I think Daniela could go above Razzano in the rankings after this tournament.

Shouldve played Paris... Her raking isnt helping her in these events. Though draws have been kind as of late, lets hope she's lucky again...

I'm speculating that Daniela skipped Paris as she probably wants to avoid playing indoors in Europe in winter for two weeks before playing outdoors in Dubai the next week. She probably doesn't want a sharp change in temperatures and conditions. Plus, the travelling and not having too much time to acclimatise which could make her a little more vulnerable to illness.
Andy Murray skipped playing in the Middle East to prepare in Australia prior to the Australian Open to acclimatise to the temperature and conditions there as he didn't want a change in conditions.
Plus, Daniela skipped Linz and Bali at the end of last year because she had back problems, so she may also want to avoid overplaying and give herself more time to recuperate between playing.
