Daniela, you are an utter disgrace. Dig yourself a hole in the ground and bury yourself in it-I cannot bear to watch you squander your talent like this.

I cannot be that mean to daniela. But Im mad at her for wasting such great oportunities... Another title was in order.
Hope Drum can somehow win this, It'll make daniela's loss easier to take...

What a shocking result. There had been some close calls, but Date-Krumm hadn't won a WTA match all year until this week. This is a pretty inexcusable performance from Daniela.

What a terrible loss, really. It's long time ago since a loss was so depressing for me. Altough I think she would'nt have won that Tournament (Makiri, ALG)... I don't want to read her blog :( :(

theres a huge difference between being first seed and winning the whole thing.
The small "1" around her name looked really nice, but didn't mean that Daniela was the favourite in every match of the tournament.

At least it was a close result.

On the other side it's a great run for Date Krumm, congrats to her.

Oh dear, this is very disappointing and a bit shocking. This was such a great chance for a trophy that's slipped away.

Date Krumm had been competitive against quite a few good players this year but this is a match that Daniela should have won, especially after being up 5-1 in the first and losing it on a tiebreak. If she'd won the first set 6-1 or 6-2, she'd have carried the momentum to a win, but Date Krumm won a set she had no right to and eventually won the match. Tiebreaks had been such a strength for Daniela but now she's lost her last three: the two against Shvedova in Toronto and now here after being up a double break in all three sets. Her record on BPs, for and against, wasn't too good either. That's the biggest worry about this because her current inability to close out sets from commanding positions or win crucial points against modest opponents is going to make it harder in future as Daniela will have doubt and lack of confidence in her ability under pressure while the opponent will feel it's not a lost cause and keep fighting which will make it harder for Daniela in future.

Still, Daniela's shown many times in the past that she's a strong and resilient woman and she's bounced back from crushing adversity in the past and I'm sure she'll do so again.

On to Tokyo.

Daniela Hantuchova is right about everything.

Haha, why?
Well, lossing that 5-1 lead is injustifiable, and a 100 bp. I guess its not the same as saying: She lost to Serena at Wimbledon...

Date Krumm interview from Seoul website:

Q. How do you feel winning the match today?

A. Yeah, now really tired, of course. But I just concentrate on my tennis, and today again. And 1st set, I was losing 1-5 and then start thinking just to focus the ball and just to enjoy the game. After this, I was losing 1-5 and I came to much focus the ball. And then I don’t care about the point, I don’t care about the result, and just to concentrate on every point. And then suddenly 5-all, so I... Okay, now start more aggressive. And then I played the first serve. In the 2nd set, I tried to finish in the 2nd set, but she also to play very good. It was very, very tough match, and then in the final set I was one break up. And then start, my serve was not good but even I cannot keep my serve, and then I just forget my serve and just every point concentrate and then give pressure to her. And then finally I can enjoy to play the match.

Q. Today, you had many forehand down the line winners on important points. What do you think your strengths are compared to the other players playing today?

A. My tactic was... She has a lot of reach. She has long arms and long legs. So if people have long legs and long arms, my target is using the body. Because too long arms and too long legs. So sometimes I’m using the body, and then of course after the body I have open space, so I play using the down the line also, the backhand also I’m thinking to use. So today my tactics was working a lot. And even serve, I’m using the body, and then sometimes after the body, down the line or wide serve. And also using the drop shot to come to net, and then try to hit more next point.

Daniela Hantuchova is right about everything.
